Featured Yak & Yeti Restaurant Review

Yak & Yeti Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Yak & Yeti Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of our favorite table-service dining options in the park. Located in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom, this restaurant serves a variety of pan-Asian dishes in a beautifully themed setting with so much to look at inside.

We really enjoy Yak & Yeti and have found it to be a consistently good dining option at Animal Kingdom. The food has always been one of the biggest reasons we come back, but the atmosphere is also a big part of what makes this restaurant stand out. It feels like a nice break from the heat and crowds of the park, and the menu has several dishes our family loves.

Yak & Yeti is also a great option if you want to sit down the air-conditioning while you enjoy your meal at Animal Kingdom. The menu has a nice mix of familiar choices and more flavorful options, so it can work well for families with different tastes.

Overview of Yak & Yeti Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Yak & Yeti Restaurant is located in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, near Expedition Everest. Disney describes it as a Nepalese-style restaurant serving pan-Asian cuisine, with lunch and dinner offered as table-service meals.

The restaurant is designed to feel like a village home transformed into a dining space, and the interior is filled with Southeast Asian artifacts and intricate decor. It’s a Disney restaurant where the theming really enhances the experience, especially if your family enjoys places with plenty to look at while you eat.

This is not a character meal, but I would still book Yak & Yeti for the food, atmosphere, and convenience inside Animal Kingdom. It can be a especially nice choice on a hot park day when you want to sit down, cool off, and enjoy a more relaxed meal.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant Menu Selections

Yak & Yeti has a large menu with a variety of Asian-inspired dishes, including appetizers, noodle dishes, seafood, chicken, burgers, vegetarian options, and desserts. Some menu examples include sweet-and-sour chicken, ahi tuna nachos, pork pot stickers, Kobe beef burgers, vegetarian options, and kid-friendly choices like cheeseburgers and macaroni and cheese.

Our family has several favorite items here, and the menu has stayed consistent enough over the years that we feel like we can come back and enjoy tried-and-true favorites.

Some of our favorite things to order at Yak & Yeti include:

  • Pork Pot Stickers
  • Lettuce Cups
  • Lo Mein
  • New York Cheesecake
  • Fried Wontons

The Pork Pot Stickers are a great appetizer to share, and the Lettuce Cups are another favorite if you want something flavorful but not too heavy. The Lo Mein is one of those dependable menu items that works well as a filling entree, especially if you enjoy noodle dishes.

For dessert, the Fried Wontons are among the most popular choices here, but there are also options such as chocolate pudding cake, mango pie, and fried wontons served with pineapple and ice cream.

Before booking, I recommend looking over the current menu to make sure it will work for everyone in your group. While Yak & Yeti has plenty of approachable options, it is still a pan-Asian restaurant, so it is a good idea to check the menu ahead of time if you have picky eaters.

Atmosphere Inside Yak & Yeti Restaurant

One of the things we really enjoy about Yak & Yeti is the atmosphere. The inside of the restaurant is detailed, colorful, and full of interesting decor. It has a collected, layered look that makes the restaurant feel more immersive than a basic table-service location.

This is a nice restaurant to choose if you want a break from the busier parts of Animal Kingdom. It gives you time to sit down, enjoy air conditioning, and have a real meal without leaving the park.

The theming also gives kids something to look at while they wait for food, which is always helpful during a Disney park day. While it does not have the same entertainment factor as a character meal, the atmosphere still feels special and very fitting for Animal Kingdom.

Reservations and Planning

Reservations are recommended for Yak & Yeti Restaurant, especially if you are visiting during a busy season or want to eat at a popular lunch or dinner time.

You can make reservations through the My Disney Experience app or on the Disney World website. Disney notes that advance reservations are highly recommended, and same-day reservations may be available on a limited basis. Yak & Yeti Restaurant is run by Landry’s, so if you’re a part of their Landry’s Select Club you may be eligble for priority seating benefits.

Since Yak & Yeti is located inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you will need valid park admission to dine here. Disney also notes that a theme park reservation may be required depending on your admission type, and having a dining reservation does not guarantee park entry.

If Yak & Yeti is a priority for your Animal Kingdom day, I would try to book it ahead of time. If you do not see the reservation you want right away, keep checking, because dining reservations can open up as other guests change their plans.

You can also use a reservation alert service like MouseDining if you are watching for a specific time.

Meal Pricing at Yak & Yeti

Yak & Yeti is a moderately priced table-service restaurant by Disney standards. Disney currently lists both lunch and dinner in the $$ range, which means $15 to $34.99 per adult.

Because this is an a la carte restaurant, your total cost will depend on what your family orders. Appetizers, specialty drinks, and desserts can add up, but you also have more flexibility than you would at a fixed-price character meal.

This can make Yak & Yeti a nice option if you want a sit-down meal without paying character dining prices. It still feels like a full table-service experience, but you can choose how much or how little you want to order.

If you are using the Disney Dining Plan, check the current dining plan details before your trip so you know how it fits into your overall plan.

Is Yak & Yeti Restaurant Worth It?

Yak & Yeti Restaurant is worth considering if you are planning a full day at Animal Kingdom and want a good table-service meal inside the park.

For our family, this is one of the stronger dining options at Animal Kingdom. We love that the menu has stayed consistent, the food is flavorful, and the restaurant has several dishes we already know we enjoy. It is always helpful to have a reliable restaurant choice in a Disney park, especially when you are traveling with family.

I would recommend Yak & Yeti if your family enjoys Asian-inspired food, wants a break from quick-service meals, or is looking for a sit-down restaurant with interesting theming. It is also a good choice if you want something more unique than burgers and fries but still need enough menu variety for the whole family.

If you have very picky eaters, I would review the menu ahead of time. There are kid-friendly items available, but the main reason to book Yak & Yeti is for the pan-Asian menu and the themed dining experience.
