Disney’s Moana is one of our family’s favorite movie picks that the entire family loves! The story of the brave Pacific adventurer is perfect inspiration for our girls. Moana is one of my favorite characters as well. I love strong female characters!

Below are some of my favorite ideas for you to wear for a day at EPCOT if you’ll be spending time in the Journey of Water area. Or if you’re headed to Disney’s Animal Kingdom plan to stop by for a meet and greet with Moana while you’re there. These outfits are comfortable and perfect for a day at the theme parks!Â
Quick Moana Outfit Ideas
These ideas are perfect to wear for a day at Walt Disney World. You can find an outfit that will be the perfect fit for your plans. You don’t have to have a full Moana costume on to share your love for this voyager. Consider a Disneybound made of regular clothing items that are inspired by the movie.
Disneybound outfits use regular everyday clothing items and put them together in a recognizable format so that other Moana movie fans will be sure to spot your outfit inspiration!
If you don’t want to wear a dress, you can even go casual and put a graphic tee with shorts or a skirt. A multilayered skirt is a great way to be inspired by her outfit look and still stay comfortable. You can even add a scarf waist tie or pick a skirt with tassel accents to create an outfit just like Moana’s.

Moana also has lots of great supporting characters to create an outfit around. From her sidekicks HeiHei and Pua to Demi-God Maui, there are lots of great outfit ideas to incorporate your favorite characters.
On one of my recent trips to Walt Disney World, I wore a Moana Disneybound outfit to wear to the Journey of Water area at EPCOT. I found a great crossbody bag by Buckle Down products that featured both HeiHei and Pua, and it had a print inspired by Moana’s dress. There were even tassel accents running along the bottom of the bag.

Accessories Inspired by Moana
​There are also some fantastic accessories that you can use not only as a part of your Moana inspired outfit, but with other outfits as well! A Heart of Te Fiti necklace is probably one of the most recognizable accessories from the movie, but there are also adorable bag and wallet choices with some of the story’s characters.
A Moana necklace or bracelet is a subtle way to be able to wear something inspired by your favorite character for everyday wear too.
Where to Meet Moana
Moana is a favorite Disney Princess to meet for little kids and big kids alike! There are a few dedicated spots at Walt Disney World Resort where you can plan to meet Moana. She even has a new outfit for the release of the Moana 2 movie in theaters.
- EPCOT – Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana
- Near the new Journey of Water attraction in World Nature, Moana appears to greet guests throughout the day. This area is beautifully themed and offers an immersive environment tied to her story
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Discovery Island
- Moana has a dedicated meet-and-greet spot at Discovery Island in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This location features a themed backdrop inspired by her Polynesian journey. It’s a fantastic place to meet her and capture magical photos.
These are awesome places to build time into your Disney World itinerary to plan a stop to see Moana during your trip. This will also help you plan which days to wear your outfit, if you want to make sure to get a photo with Moana in your character inspired outfit.
