Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs | What to Expect at this Disney Resort

When you’re planning a Walt Disney World trip that’s more about relaxing, enjoying good food, and soaking in stylish surroundings, especially with Disney friends or on a couples stay, the Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs Resort is a hidden gem you’ll want to know about.

I recently stayed here on a girls trip, and it absolutely deserves a dedicated look at the amenities in this new building area.

This unique addition to the moderate resort lineup feels more like a deluxe experience, but without the deluxe price tag. Check out this link for our review of Coronado Springs Resort overall.

Deluxe Resort Feel at a Moderate Price

Gran Destino Tower is the newest part of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and it elevates the entire property with its modern, luxurious design. From the moment we walked into the dramatic two-story lobby with its grand chandelier and sweeping architecture, it was clear that this wasn’t your average moderate resort.

The interiors are inspired by Spanish and Southwest influences, with elegant touches like mosaic tiles, gold finishes, and rich fabrics. It gave off a boutique-hotel-meets-Disney vibe, perfect for our girls getaway.

Ideal for Adults, Couples, or Friend Trips

One thing that really stood out to me is how adult-friendly this resort feels. It’s still Disney, so there’s always magic in the air, but the overall vibe is more refined and peaceful than some of the more family-centric resorts. Whether you’re sipping sangria at the Dahlia Lounge on the rooftop or unwinding in the sleek lobby bar, this place caters to grown-up fun.

I’d personally recommend the Gran Destino Tower for adults only trips, couples trips, or friend groups, rather than families with young children. Not because it isn’t kid-friendly, it’s Disney, after all, but mainly because of how the rooms are laid out.

As you walked into our room, the sliding door immediately to your left opened to the bathroom space. The main part of the room felt similar to other moderate resorts in the amount of space and layout.

However, the bathroom configuration in our tower room had the shower and sinks together in the same open space. And the shower sits directly behind that (easily slidable) sliding door. This made getting ready at the same time a little tricky.

This setup might not be ideal for families juggling multiple kids’ routines. You also need to enter into the shower area to get to the toilet space, so it felt a bit awkward if multiple people needed to get ready at the same time.

Room with a View at Gran Destino Tower

Our room was beautiful, bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed with touches like backlighting, sleek furnishings, and large windows.

You can even request a room with a view of Disney fireworks in the distance, which adds a little extra magic to the end of the day. We could see Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the distance and the view was a great perk.

The beds were comfortable, the lighting was modern and functional, and we had plenty of USB ports and outlets (a must when you’re charging phones, magic bands, and all your devices for a Disney day!). It definitely felt like a modern resort with classic touches.

The details throughout the Gran Destino Tower really are fantastic to take in!

Dining and Lounges Worth Stopping By

We loved not having to leave the resort to find good food and drinks. Gran Destino Tower has some of the best dining options in the moderate category, and honestly, some that rival the deluxe resorts too!

  • Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood: This rooftop restaurant is a hidden gem. Delicious food, gorgeous ambiance, and views for days.
  • Dahlia Lounge: We ended most nights here, enjoying craft cocktails and stunning rooftop views of the parks.
  • Barcelona Lounge: Down in the lobby, this spot is perfect for a morning coffee or evening sangria.

During our trip we tried all three of these dining locations and they were convenient to stop in since we were staying right there in the tower. Dinner at Toledo was fantastic, and this would be worth stopping in even if you weren’t staying at the Gran Destino!

After dinner, we stopped in the Dahlia Lounge and it was a fun way to end the evening. They had great appetizers for our group to share and fun drinks. It was an enjoyable location for friends to get together.

We also used the Barcelona Lounge as a convenient meeting place in the mornings, for everyone to meetup. They serve coffee in the morning and then in the afternoon it switches over to a drinks menu.

Plus, if you want something quick, you still have access to the full Coronado Springs dining options like El Mercado de Coronado and Three Bridges Bar & Grill. They are just a short walk away.

Beautiful Grounds and Amenities

We took time to walk around the resort and loved the peaceful lakefront paths and lush landscaping. If you’re staying at the Gran Destino Tower you’ll use the same main pool at the rest of Coronado Springs Resort.

Modeled after an ancient city, the Lost City of Cibola Pool, is themed beautifully and has a massive pyramid centerpiece and a waterslide. My kids have loved going to the pool on previous stays at Coronado Springs and it is a highlight of staying at the resort in general.

Would I Stay in the Gran Destino Tower Again?

Would I stay here again? Absolutely! In fact, it might be my new go-to location to consider for adult Disney trips!

For our girls trip, it was exactly what we needed. Gran Destino Tower is modern, relaxing, and just the right amount of Disney magic.

If you’re looking for a Disney World resort that’s stylish, comfortable, and a little more grown-up, Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs is absolutely worth considering. It’s a great choice for adult travelers who want a balance between luxury and value.

The food here is a must try, even if you aren’t staying at the resort. I highly recommend stopping by to check out the ambiance at both Toledo and the Dahlia Lounge. They are a wonderful place to round out your perfect Disney day! Learn more in the articles below!
