You can paint your nails different colors underneath, use nail art pens to accent the designs, or even do dip nails to add the designs to those! The options are endless and easier than you may think!

Choosing the Right Base Colors

Selecting the base color is the first step in nail art. Bright colors like red, blue, and yellow can represent classic Disney themes. For a more subtle look, consider softer pastels or nude shades.

When choosing colors, think about the specific Disney character or theme. For Mickey Mouse, black and red are perfect choices. For Princess themes, shades like pink or lavender work well.

Use a good quality nail polish that applies easily. A smoother finish helps your art look neat and professional. You may also want to consider a base coat to protect your nails. For dip, you can put the stickers or design on prior to sealing with your top coat, and then finish off the design with a top coat of polish so that the designs stay put.

For my nail art series, I purchased this variety set from Amazon. It included a good range of polishes that were smooth coating and fast drying. Also, the colors worked great for a number of characters!

Top Coats and Stickers for Longevity

Top coats are essential to make your nail art last longer. They add shine and protection against chips. Look for quick-drying formulas to save time, especially when you’re eager to show off your nails. We love OPI top coats and Seche Vite top coats at our house.

Stickers add fun and detail to your designs. Choose character-themed stickers to match your colors. Black and white designs can create a chic look, while colorful ones can make your nails pop.

Use tweezers to apply them to help make sure they are easy to apply.

To apply stickers, ensure your nail polish is fully dry. This way, they stick better and won’t smudge your work.

Pick up the sticker with tweezers and smooth down the sticker with your thumb lightly. Using a top coat over stickers helps keep them in place and adds extra shine.

Essential Nails at Home Supplies

You can definitely choose to visit the salon and bring photos of the designs you love to achieve your perfect nail look. I learned how to do my dip nails on my own at home and more often than not, I’ve just started doing my nails at home!

Your nails can even be inspired by the surroundings of Disney parks themselves! Pick your favorite ride or theme park to visit!

Magic Kingdom and Castle Designs

The Magic Kingdom is full of iconic sights that you can capture on your nails. A design with Cinderella Castle is a classic look for Disney World fans. And you can incorporate elements from around Disney World with Mickey Mouse nails or your other favorite character – use your creativity to mix and match!

Castle Tips:

  • Castle Silhouette: Paint a silhouette of the castle with pastel colors for a dreamy effect. A blending gradient from pink to purple looks stunning.
  • Fireworks: Add tiny dots of bright colors to represent fireworks over the castle. Use silver or gold glitter for extra sparkle.
  • Themed Nails: Incorporate elements like balloons and rides to connect your design to the Magic Kingdom.

EPCOT-Themed Nail Art

EPCOT offers unique designs that reflect its cultural and technological themes. You can create looks inspired by the park’s iconic objects and pavilions.

EPCOT Ideas:

  • Spaceship Earth: Use a pale gray or white base and add tiny circles to mimic the geodesic sphere.
  • World Showcase: Represent different countries with flags or symbols. For instance, you could do cherry blossoms for Japan or a French flag design.
  • Garden Festival: During spring, floral designs can be a colorful tribute to Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival. Use bright and vibrant colors to mimic the flowers in bloom.
