If you’re planning a Disney Cruise, this stop will quickly become one of your new favorite ports of call. Check out some of the highlights from our day at Lookout Cay below!

This was our first time visiting the island, but I know it won’t be our last! There was lots to do and we loved the thoughtful touches throughout the island destination.

Where is Lookout Cay Located?

Lookout Cay is situated at the southern tip of Eleuthera, The Bahamas, and offers a unique cultural experience in addition to its gorgeous beaches.

Much like Disney’s private island Castaway Cay, this new destination is designed exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests. 

What sets it apart is its focus on celebrating Bahamian culture, artistry, and nature while providing all the conveniences and magic Disney is known for.

Which Ships are Going to Lookout Cay in 2026?

In 2026, Disney Cruise Line has multiple ships that will enjoy the magic of Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on their itineraries.

The Disney Wish, sailing from Port Canaveral, features several special “double-dip” 4-night Bahamian cruises to destinations like Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay that appear together on sailing dates throughout 2026. There’s also a unique 4-night itinerary combining Nassau with Lookout Cay on some sailings.

Heading south from Port Everglades, the upcoming Disney Destiny includes Lookout Cay on many of its 2026 sailing itineraries. A majority are 3-night and 4-night options from this new port in Fort Lauderdale. A few 5-night sailings combine Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay, with one other port of call. 

The Disney Fantasy also brings guests to Lookout Cay on particularly 4-night and 5-night cruises from Port Canaveral that blend stops like Castaway Cay, Nassau, and Lookout Cay in early 2026 and many additional summer sailings.

And the Disney Dream sails regularly to Lookout Cay in 2026, offering 4-night “double-dip” cruises from Fort Lauderdale, each visiting both Lookout Cay and Castaway Cay.

We recently went on that double dip itinerary aboard the Disney Dream and it was fantastic to see both Disney island locations on one cruise!

What Makes Lookout Cay Special?

Disney has worked closely with local artists and creators to bring authentic Bahamian touches to Lookout Cay. From vibrant architecture inspired by Junkanoo festivals to island flavors served at the dining areas, every detail showcases Bahamian heritage. 

Guests will also find Disney’s signature attention to detail. Regardless of whether you’re looking for family-friendly beaches, immersive kids’ activities, or areas designed for adults to relax.

We found that there was a lot to do on the island, and in fact we weren’t able to see the entire space because we had an excursion booked for part of the day!

Activities at Lookout Cay

One of the most exciting parts of visiting Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is the variety of activities available for every age group and travel style.

Disney has designed the island to offer a mix of relaxation, cultural immersion, and active adventures so every guest can make the most of their day in The Bahamas.

Relax on the Beaches at Lookout Cay

Lookout Cay features stunning white sand beaches with calm turquoise waters, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or simply unwinding with your family.

Families will love the spacious family beach areas, while adults can retreat to exclusive adult-only beaches designed for a quieter, more tranquil experience.

Cultural Experiences at Lookout Cay

One of the most unique experiences at Disney Lookout Cay is the vibrant Junkanoo-inspired celebration. This lively festival brings the heart of Bahamian culture to life with colorful costumes, rhythmic drumming, and energetic dancing.

You can join in the fun by watching the parade of performers, learning about the history of Junkanoo, and even participating in hands-on activities that celebrate this cherished Bahamian tradition. It’s an unforgettable way to connect with the spirit of The Bahamas while enjoying Disney’s magical touch.

We loved being able to get photos with the performers! Their costumes were super detailed and it was great to hear more about the celebration.

These cultural moments give guests a deeper connection to the destination beyond the beautiful scenery.

Water Adventures at Lookout Cay

Active travelers will find plenty of options to enjoy the water. Snorkeling lets guests discover vibrant marine life, while kayaking, paddleboarding, and biking excursions allow you to explore both land and sea at your own pace. 

Disney also offers organized port adventures for families who want to explore Eleuthera beyond Lookout Cay. We went on the Tropical Reef Safari Snorkel excursion and it was an awesome experience!

We saw lots of fish and it was a fun experience boating out to the reef where they have you snorkel. This is a great excursion if you’ve done snorkeling before and if you have older kids. 

Kids’ and Family Fun at Lookout Cay

Disney Cruise Line always makes sure children have magical experiences. At Lookout Cay, kids will enjoy interactive play areas, activities led by Disney youth counselors. There are also special appearances from Disney characters in island inspired attire. 

Families can also join group activities like beach games and scavenger hunts for a fun bonding experience.

There’s also a great splash pad area with slides that is just off of the beach. 

Nature and Sustainability at Lookout Cay

For guests interested in the natural side of The Bahamas, Disney has built walking trails and observation points where you can learn about the island’s flora and fauna. 

The destination was designed with sustainability in mind, so these activities also highlight how Disney Cruise Line is protecting the natural environment while providing fun for visitors.

Shopping and Dining at Lookout Cay

Lookout Cay also offers opportunities to shop for authentic Bahamian goods created by local artisans, making it a perfect place to pick up a unique souvenir. I brought home one of these adorable handmade baskets!

We thought it was cute that there was a shop named First Chance Last Chance right by the entrance (and exit!) to the island!

When you’re ready to refuel, head to the dining pavilions for a mix of Bahamian-inspired dishes and classic Disney Cruise favorites all included in your day on the island.

True True BBQ has a variety of food that is included in your day on the island. If you’ve been to Castaway Cay, it is a similar menu.

There’s also central drink stations and soft serve ice cream available. Which has become a Disney Cruise staple at their islands!

With everything from relaxation to adventure, cultural enrichment to Disney character fun, Lookout Cay provides activities that appeal to the whole family.

What to Pack for Lookout Cay

Our must have items at Lookout Cay were reef safe sunscreen, water shoes, swimsuit with a coverup, lightweight beach tote, waterproof phone pouches, and hats for everyone.

If you forget anything, the stores on the island have everything you may need for fun in the sun too. 

Don’t forget to bring your Key to the World card onto the island with you! (All members of your party regardless of age.) And everyone over the age of 18 also needs to have photo to get back on the ship!

A New Kind of Disney Cruise Magic

Disney Lookout Cay is more than just another island stop! It’s a celebration of Bahamian culture blended with the Disney magic families love.
