On our last trip, we did the Post-Party Dessert Party, and it turned out to be a really great experience! Having access to a reserved fireworks viewing area and then enjoying desserts afterward made the whole night feel easy, festive, and extra magical.
There are two main timing options for this experience: the Pre-Party and the Post-Party. We’ll focus on the Post-Party experience and timing.

For the Post-Party, guests check in before the fireworks and are escorted to a reserved standing area in the Plaza Garden. After the fireworks, you’ll return to Tomorrowland Terrace for desserts and drinks.
This is one of those Disney extras that isn’t necessary for every trip, but it can be a really fun splurge if you want a more relaxed fireworks night.
Pre-Party vs. Post-Party: What’s the Difference?
One of the most important things to know before booking is that you need to choose your dessert party format in advance.
With the Pre-Party, you enjoy the desserts first and then head to the Plaza Garden to watch Happily Ever After. With the Post-Party, you watch the fireworks first and then head back for desserts after the show. The pre-party check-in is 90 minutes before the show, and the post-party check-in is 60 minutes before the show.
For us, the Post-Party flow was a big reason this experience worked so well. It let us focus on the fireworks first and then relax afterward instead of trying to keep an eye on the clock during dessert.
How Is the Fireworks View?
One of the biggest highlights was having a special area in the hub at Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks with a great view.
The Post-Party includes access to a prime standing area in the Plaza Garden. Plaza Garden viewing is standing-room only, which is important to know in advance.
The other reason this viewing location matters is that Happily Ever After is more than just fireworks. There are light projections on Cinderella Castle, lights, lasers, and special effects. Viewing from the hub area gives you a much better overall experience than watching from a location where you might miss the castle projections.
What Desserts Are Included?
After the fireworks, guests are escorted back to Tomorrowland Terrace for the dessert portion of the evening. The menu includes confections inspired by the different lands of Magic Kingdom. Beer and wine are also included for guests ages 21 and up with valid ID, along with other beverages.
This part of the evening really did feel like a fun finale. Instead of immediately heading out with the crowds after the fireworks, you get to slow down and enjoy one more special Disney moment before ending the night.
Is the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party Worth It?
We loved ending our evening with the fireworks dessert party! This is an experience I would definitely book again, and I loved the leisurely pace that it allowed us to watch the fireworks in!
If your main priority is simply seeing the fireworks and you don’t mind lining up early for a spot, this may feel like more of a splurge than a must-do. But if you want a more relaxed fireworks experience, enjoy Disney desserts, and like the idea of making the evening feel a little more special, this can absolutely be worth considering.
For our family, the biggest benefits were:

- Getting to enjoy the fireworks first and desserts afterward
