Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special ticketed event held at Magic Kingdom Park during the holiday season at Walt Disney World. Updated for 2024 party dates!

What to Enjoy at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
The party features festive entertainment such as Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Holiday Wishes fireworks show, and special stage shows like “Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration.” Guests can also enjoy complimentary holiday treats, meet Disney characters in their holiday attire, and experience select attractions with shorter wait times.
It’s a magical way to celebrate the holidays with a touch of Disney enchantment. Here are some of the highlights from the party that I attended in November 2023!
Tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
This special ticketed event to celebrate the holidays at Walt Disney World grants you admission to Magic Kingdom from 4pm on your party day until midnight that evening. The party officially starts at 7pm and you’re able to take part in all of the festivities unique to the party throughout the evening.

This means you do not need a regular park admission for the day to enter for the party, as long as you intend to enter after 4pm on your party day. Additionally, if you have a regular park admission for Magic Kingdom Park on a party day but do not intend on staying for the party (or were unable to get a ticket), you will be able to stay in the park until 7pm at the party’s official start time.
At 7pm, the park closes and is only open to guests with a special ticket for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. All guests with tickets will receive a wristband to designate that they have party tickets.

What to Do at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
There’s lots to do at this special holiday event, from a parade and fireworks that can only be seen during the party time to merchandise that can only be purchased during the party, there are lots of party only activities to take part in.
One special part of the Christmas party are the hot cocoa and cookie stands available throughout the park. These treats are given out complimentary to party guests and there are various flavors to try!
Many of the restaurants also have special treats for purchase, so you’ll want to check the map you’re given on the way in to find your must dos!
What’s Included at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
These items are included with your special ticket for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party:
- Complimentary Ornament (Given out on Main Street until 8pm to party ticket holders)
- Holiday Treats Throughout the Park (Visit marked locations to pick up treats)
- Exclusive holiday shows, parades, and fireworks

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Experience
At the party I attended in November 2023, it was a sold out party night however the park didn’t feel overly full. The crowd was fairly evenly dispersed throughout the park, with Main Street being more full during parade and fireworks show times.
As I walked in that evening, I was greeted by the holiday sights and sounds, along with the magical “snow” coming down on Main Street! This is one of my favorite parts about attending the Christmas Party, feeling fully immersed in the holiday spirit.

If you arrive at the 7pm party start time, you’re funneled down an alley with a DJ playing festive music, with character photo opportunities along the way and a line to pick up your complimentary ornament!
Planning Your Party Night
After making your way through this area, you’re free to take part in any of the party activities you would like – or spend the whole evening riding rides! I did find that wait times were significantly lower during the party, and even rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train only had around a 20-minute wait time during my party.
I made sure to catch the special stage show, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration. All of the viewing spots near the front of the castle were taken, so I actually went over to the bridge connecting Liberty Square to Main Street, and there were big openings to be able to view the stage show from the side in this area.

After catching the 8:30pm viewing of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, I was able to go around to a number of the treat stands to try some hot cocoa and cookies. Timing wise, that left me with enough time to find a viewing spot for Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks show at 10pm.
I don’t always stay for all of the fireworks shows, but for party nights since you are paying a special ticket price for a unique fireworks show – I do try to always catch those shows.

For the rest of the evening, I was able to close out the night riding rides and grabbing treats. It was an all around fun evening and I enjoyed my time at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!
This is an event that I would return to again, and I felt was worth the additional entry fee for the special event value given. Make sure to get your tickets early, if you’ve selected a date and plan to attend! Most party nights do sell out in advance!

What to Wear to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
One of my favorite parts about the holiday parties is being able to plan special outfits to wear! I found a Christmas cookie inspired print dress and put a red bolero cardigan over it. You can go as fancy or casual as you’d like, but for all of the special ticketed events, finding a fun outfit can help add to the festive spirit!
