Why Disney World in November?
One of the biggest advantages of visiting Walt Disney World Resort in November is the weather. The temperatures are cooler and more comfortable at this time in Central Florida than during the summer months, making it easier to enjoy all the outdoor attractions and activities.
Additionally, November has a few weeks with lower crowds meaning shorter wait times for rides and attractions, allowing visitors to experience more of the parks in less time.
Visiting around Thanksgiving is one of the busiest times of year, but if you can visit during either the beginning of the month prior to the Veteran’s Day holiday weekend or plan your trip for the week after Thanksgiving, you should have fewer crowds to contend with during your stay.
We love visiting in November to kick off our holiday season, and taking some time to spend visiting the different theme parks and resorts to see the Christmas decorations throughout the property.

– Comfortable shoes: You’ll be doing a lot of walking in Disney World, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes that you’ve broken in before your trip when walking in the theme park. If you have glam shoes to wear to a special event or dinner, tuck them away in your purse or bag and switch them out for comfortable shoes when you need to do any distance walking. You always want to make sure your shoes are comfortable for walking!
– Sun protection: Even in November, the sun can be strong in Florida. Consider wearing a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to protect your skin.

Holidays at Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World hosts several events and festivals throughout the year, and November is no exception.
We are looking forward to checking the all new Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a glam evening of merry mashups!
Here are some of the events happening at Walt Disney World in November:
- Epcot International Food & Wine Festival: This annual event takes place from July to November and features culinary demonstrations, food and beverage tastings, and live entertainment.
- Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party: This special ticketed event takes place on select nights in November and December at Magic Kingdom park. Guests can enjoy holiday-themed entertainment, fireworks, and a parade.
- Festival of the Holidays: This event takes place at Epcot and celebrates holiday traditions from around the world. Guests can enjoy special food and beverage offerings, live entertainment, and more.
- Jollywood Nights: This festive nighttime party is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and is a glammed up way to spend your holiday at this special ticketed event.
- Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail: Guests can stroll through a winter wonderland of Christmas trees inspired by Disney characters at Disney Springs.

- Magic Kingdom Park: Holiday decorations galore in this magical park, enjoy the new Frozen Holiday Surprise at Cinderella Castle and ride on the “Jingle Cruise”, the festive update for the fan favorite Jungle Cruise ride.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: In addition to the holiday decor throughout the park, you can also book a dining reservation for lunch or dinner at Hollywood & Vine to see the characters dressed up in their holiday finest at Minnie’s Holiday Dine. Characters in Toy Story Land are also dressed in holiday attire!
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Mickey and Minnie are dressed in their holiday attire at the Adventurer’s Outpost and see the Tree of Life lit up for the Awakenings Holiday Edition in the evening.
Also, don’t miss a special sighting of Santa Claus! Santa Claus can be found at Disney Springs Marketplace in Once Upon a Toy throughout the holiday season, appearing from November 8th through December 24, 2024. There is a virtual queue line to get a time to meet Santa Claus at the Disney Springs Marketplace.
You can also spot Santa Claus at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party during the parade, and at a meet and greet during the party time at the Liberty Square Gazebo.
Weather in November at Walt Disney World
The weather at Walt Disney World in November is generally mild and pleasant, but it can vary depending on the specific day and location within the resort.
We have had some visits in November where it was extremely hot and we were in short sleeve shirts and shirts – while other times, especially towards the end of the month, it has turned off cooler and we were most comfortable in a long-sleeved shirt or long pants, or having a light jacket on hand. Generally the warm weather is comfortable and it is a good time of year to visit.
During the day, temperatures typically range from the mid-70s to low-80s Fahrenheit (around 24-28 Celsius), but it can feel cooler in the morning and evening. Nighttime temperatures can drop down to the mid-50s to low-60s Fahrenheit (around 12-16 Celsius), so it’s a good idea to bring a light jacket or sweater for the evenings.
The average high temperature when the sun out is usually fairly comfortable. Early mornings can also be a bit chilly, so you may need to also start the day with more layers.
November is also one of the drier months in Florida and at the tail end of hurricane season, but there is still a chance of rain in Florida. It’s a good idea to pack a poncho or umbrella just in case.
Water rides will still be running at this time of year and you can also visit a water park, currently Typhoon Lagoon is the water park that is open. Blizzard Beach is closed for refurbishment this November.
Visiting Disney World in November
November is a great time to visit Walt Disney World as the weather is generally mild and comfortable, and the crowds are typically lower during non-holiday weeks in November than during peak season.
The end of December right at the holidays is one of the busiest times of year at Walt Disney World, so visiting for a November trip in an off-peak week is a great way to enjoy the holidays at Walt Disney World while avoiding the massive crowds and long lines you can find right around the week of Christmas. You’ll also want to avoid Thanksgiving week, as this is a popular week for both locals and visitors from northern states to head to Disney.
It’s a wonderful time to see the holidays at Walt Disney World Resort and also a great time to visit before cold weather sets in later in the winter months.
