These are our favorite tips for making the most of your pirate night on your Disney Cruise!
What is Pirate Night on Disney Cruises?
Pirate Night is a themed evening on many Disney Cruise Line sailings where the entire ship transforms into a pirate celebration. If you’re heading to a Caribbean or Bahamian destination, there will likely be a Pirate Night on your cruise. On 3 to 7 night cruises headed to destinations in the Bahamas or Caribbean, one night will be dedicated to Pirate Night!

Pirate Night is a full celebration with pirate themed activities like Pirate Trivia and pirate crafts in the Kid’s Clubs. There are multiple deck parties, and you can even see fireworks at sea during the later deck party of the evening!

You can figure out ahead of time which night will be Pirate Night by looking at the “Onboard Activities” available to book on your Disney Cruise!

Scroll through the activities on the different days, and look for a “Pirate-Themed Makeover” offered at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! This will be your tip off that it will be the Pirate Night on your cruise! As these makeovers are only offered on Pirate Night! On our upcoming Disney Destiny cruise, Pirate Night will be on Day 3!
Special Dinner Menus for Pirate Night
On Pirate Night, every restaurant on the ship will feature the same Pirate Night menu! That way, you can take part in the pirate fun no matter which restaurant you’re assigned to! For 4-day and longer cruises, this will be a restaurant that you also visit on a different night of your cruise!

The menu features pirate specials for appetizers, entrees, and desserts! We enjoy this dinner evening because it is a fun way to get in the pirate spirit!

We love the flavors on Pirate Night and on the Disney Treasure I ordered Jack’s Treasure-of-the-Seas as my entree. Which was delicious!
What We Wore to Pirate Night on Our Disney Cruise
We love participating in Pirate Night, but we also like comfortable easy to wear and pack outfits too! On our recent Disney Treasure cruise, I wore a comfortable black sundress with a corset belt, and added the bandana from our room to my hair!

You can get as dressed up or be as casual as you’d like! You’ll see everything from full pirate costumes, to pirate’s life inspire t-shirts on the deck! Anything goes! Just make sure you’ll be comfortable in the Caribbean heat!

My husband wore a lightweight pirate print shirt that we found on Amazon! And my daughter enjoyed adding some pirate accessories to her dress!
What to Wear to Pirate Night for Women
Most often, I like wearing lightweight sundresses to dinner and in the evenings on the ship. And Pirate Night is no exception!

Feather Ears / Sleeveless Dress / Rose Gold Sandals
Pair an easy to wear dress with some pirate accessories for a fun pirate look. As a bonus, you can wear the dress again after pirate night! You typically don’t need to carry much around on a Disney Cruise, but if you’d like to have some items handy there are some great pirate themed Loungefly bags!
What to Wear to Pirate Night for Kids
We also like to keep the outfits simple for the kids. And they love adding some fun pirate accessories if they want to get more dressed up that night.

Skull Ears / Pirate Accessories / Skull Lace Dress
Pirate Pants Set / Mini Pirate Dress / Pirate Hat Set
These dresses work perfectly for girls to wear to pirate night! And this fun pants set comes with some accessories that are great for both girls and boys!
Other Pirate Night Outfit Ideas
You’ll see a full range of outfits on your pirate night, and if you don’t feel like donning a full costume but still want to be in the pirate spirit… there are options for that too!

There are lots of pirate’s life t-shirts on Amazon, for women, men, and kids! You can get one of these fun pirate shirts and as a bonus, they would be fun to rewear to Magic Kingdom!
Disney Cruise Pirate Night Door Magnet Ideas
We not only love dressing up for Pirate Night, we also love transforming our stateroom door too!

Found in photo: Magnets
I purchased some fun pirate themed magnets on Amazon, that I now bring on all of our cruises! On the regular nights of the cruise I put out different magnets, but on Pirate Night our stateroom door transforms into a pirate-themed door!
Pirate Night Bandanas in Your Stateroom
If you don’t feel like brining a lot of extra gear with you, Disney typically leaves a pirate bandana for everyone in your stateroom! These can be fun to wear, use to decorate your stateroom (or door!), and bring home as souvenirs!

There are even some fun craft projects you can do with them at home, like make them into ears! So if you want to plan how you’ll use these, the current version of the bandanas is shown above!
Tips for Making the Most of Pirate Night
Pirate night is an evening full of fun on your Disney cruise! Here are some tips to help with your planning for this themed cruise night!
- Dress up as much or little as you like! Dressing up is optional, but we love taking part in this fun cruise night!
- Arrive early for the deck parties! These are highlights on the cruise, so you’ll want to arrive around 10-15 minutes early to get the best spot! We actually prefer watching from Deck 12!
- Make sure to check your stateroom in the evening for your pirate bandanas! (After dinner if you have the first seating.) These are fun to add to your outfit!
- Don’t forget to get some fun family photos in your pirate gear!
And you can see all of the pirate themed activities in your Cruise Navigator on your phone! Make sure to “heart” the activities that sound like fun, to keep them on your schedule!
What to Expect During Disney Cruise Pirate Night
Pirate Night is a swashbuckling good time on your Disney Cruise! This evening will be a fun one for the whole family, and the key is knowing how your family will best want to participate so you arrive prepared! It’s always a night we enjoy on our cruise, and we do our best to fit as much pirate themed fun into our schedule on this evening as possible!

You can expect an evening full of pirate themed activities and surprises! If you haven’t been to the deck parties before, we recommend catching both of them! The earlier deck party is family friendly and features a number of characters. While the later deck party has a lot of action and fireworks at sea!

No matter how you celebrate pirate night, it is sure to be a memorable evening for your family!
