If you’re looking for a meal with glitz and glam at Disney World, then The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant is going to be the choice for you! We recently visited the BoardWalk to have dinner and take in all that this unique dining experience has to offer! This is a great fit for a fun date night out, a girls meal at Disney, or even is great to bring kids if you’re looking for an elegant dining option that is family friendly!

This was a delightful experience and one of the highlights on our recent trip!

This definitely wouldn’t be a location I would plan for every trip, but when you’re looking for a dining experience with a bit of sparkle this should be at the top of the list.

The Cake Bake Shop Location

The Cake Bake Shop is located on Disney’s BoardWalk, making it an easy dining option for guests staying at nearby resorts in the EPCOT Resort area.

Staying near the BoardWalk isn’t a requirement to dine here though! This restaurant is also a great choice for an evening out after spending the day at EPCOT or Hollywood Studios. There’s easy access to get to the restaurant location via either the Disney Skyliner or Disney boat transportation.

Its prime location makes it ideal for both Disney resort guests and those looking to enjoy a more relaxed, upscale dining experience outside the theme parks. It is a family friendly dining location.

We just recommend noting the price point to make sure that it is what you’re looking for in your dining option.

Origins of The Cake Bake Shop

The Cake Bake Shop was founded by Gwendolyn Rogers, an Indiana based entrepreneur and self taught baker who turned her passion for baking into this glam dining experience!

The original Cake Bake Shop opened in Carmel, Indiana, and quickly gained a loyal following for its elaborate, beautifully decorated cakes. And its charming, vintage inspired atmosphere. What began as a small bakery grew into a full service restaurant. They are known for indulgent desserts, thoughtful presentation, and a whimsical yet elegant style.

The success of the Indiana location eventually led to expansion, including the highly anticipated opening at Walt Disney World’s BoardWalk. Here The Cake Bake Shop brings its signature cakes, hospitality, and storybook charm to a whole new audience.

The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant Menu Selections

I went into this reservation with no expectations for any part of the meal other than the dessert. And I came away absolutely surprised by how much I loved the whole meal!

The gumbo was outstanding and in my opinion is the best gumbo you can find on Disney property! (Notably compared to Port Orleans – French Quarter quick service and 1900 Park Fare restaurant!)

The drinks were delightfully sparkly, and I ordered the Lavender Lemonade and Peach Bellini with my meal. (The Lavender Lemonade is non-alcoholic, the Peach Bellini contains alcohol.) And there are sparkles on every inch of your meal, from drink to dessert!

To finish off my meal I had a cappuccino with the Cookie Dough Cake. It’s very true, that cake is what The Cake Bake Shop is brilliant at! It was the most decadent and sparkly cake I’ve ever tried. Delicious, and I would order this one again!

They have a vast (almost overwhelming!) menu, that means that everyone in your party could find something to enjoy here. The desserts are large enough that they could be shared if you can get everyone to agree on a flavor. (Or two!)

It is a family friendly restaurant, their high chairs are event elegant! You’ll need to determine based on the pricing and ambiance if it is the right fit for your trip and party. This is a niche experience that caters to parties looking for a special dining experience with lots of sparkle!

Meal Pricing at The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant

The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant is known in Disney circles to be on the higher end of dining experiences at Walt Disney World. You can also stop into their bakery shop next door to get a single piece of cake. And although these pieces are incredibly large (and sharable!), they run in the $20-$25 range for one PIECE of cake.

Entrees were more moderately priced at the restaurant, in the $25-$45 range. And are in line with other restaurants located on the BoardWalk.

We went in for the full experience, and with each person ordering an entree, drink with dinner, cappuccino with dessert, and a piece of cake – the price was around $115 per person.

It should be noted of course that the pieces of cake are rather large. And if you can get everyone to agree they could easily feed 2-3 people for dessert!

Making Reservations at The Cake Bake Shop at Walt Disney World

Reservations for The Cake Bake Shop at Walt Disney World are made through the OpenTable app and website, rather than the My Disney Experience app. The location is owned and operated by an outside company.

I frequently use OpenTable when I’m booking dining in Chicago, so I was familiar with how their reservation system works. They have an app that is easy to download and you can also search reservations on their website.

Because this restaurant is extremely popular, especially for dinner and dessert, it’s highly recommended to book as early as possible. OpenTable allows you to view available time slots, select your preferred seating time, and manage or modify your reservation easily.

If you don’t see availability right away, checking back frequently can help! Planning ahead with a reservation is the best way to guarantee a table at this BoardWalk dining spot.

Rating The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant was an overall excellent dining experience and I came away delighted with the entire meal! This is someplace I will definitely return to again! This isn’t a dining experience I would plan on every trip. It can be a bit of a splurge, especially depending on your party size.

When I’m looking for an immersive meal with a touch of sparkle and glam, this will be my go-to dining destination at Disney World!

Additionally, if you’re visiting Indiana (Indianapolis, Carmel, or Broad Ripple) you can visit the other location for The Cake Bake Shop! This is the original location and home of the owner as well.

I love trying new dining experiences and this one definitely left its mark! The Cake Bake Shop always features glamorous decor with touches of sparkle and pink. Perfect for a special dining experience to end your trip with or celebrate a special occasion!

Also, I highly recommend booking this one during the holidays when it is lit up by sparkling trees and pink bauble garland! This makes it an extra special holiday meal during your trip! Check out these other dining articles to help you plan!
