Droid Depot in Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios

If you’re looking for a unique experience at Hollywood Studios that the whole family can enjoy, the Droid Depot is a fantastic hands-on experience! During this special paid activity, you pick the pieces to build your very own droid. And the best part is, it makes a fantastic souvenir to bring home as well!

This experience was especially fun for Star Wars fans! My girls enjoyed building their droids, and then being able to race the droids.

We even were able to bring them back on our (now closed) Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser trip to be able to sign up the droids in Droid Races! You can still find a small area just outside of the Droid Depot shop to run your droids with other droid enthusiasts!

What is the Droid Depot?

The Droid Depot is an interactive experience located inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World, where you can build your very own custom droid. Inspired by the Star Wars universe, the experience allows the builders to assemble a droid from a variety of parts, choose between different models, colors, and accessories, and create a one-of-a-kind droid companion.

During the build process, you will move through a themed workshop that feels like a functioning droid factory, guided by Cast Members who help bring your creation to life. Once completed, the droid is activated and packaged for easy transport so you can take it home. It can even interact with elements around Galaxy’s Edge, making the Droid Depot both a memorable hands-on activity and a unique Star Wars souvenir from your visit.

What We Loved About the Experience

We enjoy booking special experiences at Disney World, because they really make your trip memorable! Our kids were the perfect age the first time we built the droids, and mid-grade school age is the perfect age for them to be independent during the experience and put everything together on their own.

We did a very Star Wars focused trip and this made the perfect souvenir to bring home from that vacation! Years later, they still have those droids and remember the experience well.

Planning Extra Magic for Your Disney Day

The Droid Depot is one of those Disney experiences that adds an extra layer of magic to your day, especially if you love hands on activities. It’s a fun and creative break from rides and shows. And it’s a great way to enjoy something interactive while exploring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

Our family loved watching the droids come together piece by piece and seeing each personality come to life at the end of the build. It’s an experience that feels both meaningful and memorable, and one we’d happily do again. If your family enjoys Star Wars, building things together, or taking home a one-of-a-kind souvenir, the Droid Depot is absolutely worth adding to your Disney plans for your kiddos.
