Discovering the Best Photo Walls at Disney

Disney World has plenty of picture-perfect spots, but some walls stand out from the rest. Here are the best photo walls at Disney World, organized by park.

Magic Kingdom Park

Magic Kingdom is home to some of the most iconic Disney walls. They are easy to spot and usually relatively easy to work into your schedule to grab a few photos.

Purple Wall

One of the most iconic walls at Disney World and arguably the one that started the wall trend, the Purple Wall has evolved over the years. The Purple Wall, a fan favorite located along a walkway into Tomorrowland, features gradients of lavender and purple.

There is slight overhang in the area but it still gets lots of natural light, making it the perfect backdrop for a fun and colorful photo.

Tangled Area

Another popular wall is the Tangled Wall, located near the restrooms in Fantasyland. This wall features a beautiful mural inspired by the movie Tangled.

Found in photo: Rapunzel Dress / Floral Sandals / Rapunzel Ears

This area can get quite busy since it is right by the bathrooms after all, but if you have some patience, you can capture some great photos here. There are also some adorable mini village buildings to the right of the bathroom, that make for a fun photo background as well too.

EPCOT’s Iconic Backdrops

EPCOT is known for its unique architecture and beautiful landscapes, making it the perfect place for share worthy photos.

You can find this great statue of Walt in the Communicore Plaza area of World Celebration. Sometimes there is a PhotoPass photographer stationed here, and other times you’ll need to have a friend grab the photo. Just be careful if you’re taking the photo on a hot day, the statue material gets really hot!

Bubble Gum Wall

One of the most popular walls is the Bubblegum Wall, located near the exit of Spaceship Earth. This wall features shades of pink and blue and is perfect for a fun and playful photo.

The pattern is on both sides of Spaceship Earth and at different times of day one side or the other is in direct sunlight, so plan to look for the best lighting for the time of day when you’ll be there.

Wave Wall

Another popular spot is the Wave Wall, located near the entrance of Coral Reef restaurant. This wall features shades of blue and green, with the perfect under the sea vibe photo and great lighting throughout most of the day.

Animal Kingdom’s Wild Walls

Animal Kingdom is home to some of the most stunning photo spots at Disney. The theme park is inspired by nature, which provides a perfect backdrop for stunning photos!

Moss Wall

The Moss Wall, located near the exit of Flight of Passage inside Pandora – The World of Avatar, is a fan favorite.

This wall features shades of green and is perfect for a nature-inspired photo. It’s kind of tucked out of the way, so you may have to do a bit of searching to find it. While looking at Pongu Pongu refreshment station, look to your left and head directly back to the wall area to find it.

Fichwa Fellow Wall

Another popular spot is located in the Africa section of the theme park. The Harambe Market Wall is located just to the left of the entrance of Harambe Market. This wall features colorful murals inspired by African culture.

Sometimes you can even find a PhotoPass photographer at this wall to help you get your photos! “Fichwa” means “hidden” in Swahili, so this Hidden Mickey is not so hidden!

Colorful Murals of Animal Kingdom

There are also different murals that pop up throughout the year on different gates in Animal Kingdom. On my most recent trip, this new sunrise mural was just next to Creature Comforts.

And this animal inspired mural is located near the Harambe Market in the Africa section of the theme park.

These colorful murals are tucked away all over the theme park, so make sure to keep an eye out while you’re exploring!

Bridges of Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom theme park also has a number of scenic bridge areas that are perfect to snap a great photo. The walkways going into the Pandora area are some of my favorites, especially the back bridge walkway connecting Africa to Pandora.

It’s easy to skip this route if you enter the land from a different route. So make sure to connect with the walkway that goes behind Sa’tuli Canteen and then heads over to Africa.

There are also gorgeous waterways all around the theme park, and with the diverse vegetation throughout, it makes it easy to find perfect background all over Animal Kingdom!

Hollywood Studios Highlights

Hollywood Studios may be the smallest theme park at Walt Disney World, but it’s home to some of the most unique photo spots.

Popsicle Stick Wall

The Popsicle Stick Wall, located near the entrance of Toy Story Land, is a fan favorite. (You need to go through the Toy Story Midway Mania ride to get to the full wall, but it looks like these benches you see throughout the land!)

This wall features colorful popsicle sticks and is perfect for a playful photo.

Wear brightly colored clothing and get all of your toy pals together for a fun photo!

Tower of Terror Wall

Another popular spot is the Hollywood Tower Hotel Wall, located near the entrance of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This wall features a spooky mural inspired by the ride.

As you exit the ride, make sure to look around at all of the details and you’ll find the mural as you walk out from the ride.

No matter which park you visit, there’s a Disney wall waiting for you to snap a photo. So grab your camera and get ready to add some Disney magic to your Instagram feed!

When it comes to capturing magical moments at Disney, few things beat the themed photo opportunities. Here are some of the best photo walls at Disney that are sure to make your Instagram feed pop.

Fantasyland Fairytales

Step into a fairytale world in Fantasyland, where you’ll find charming backdrops inspired by classic Disney stories. Strike a pose in front of the Cinderella Castle for an iconic shot. There are some arch areas to either side of the castle that also make for a fantastic photo spot.

You can also find a beautiful Beauty and the Beast-themed area near Gaston’s Tavern that makes for a great backdrop as well with Beast’s castle in the background.

There is also a quiet spot in Fantasyland just around the corner from the Cheshire Cat Cafe that makes for a fun backdrop for photos when you’re wearing a Disneybound inspired by a princess or Alice in Wonderland.

World Showcase Wonders

Travel around the world in just one day at EPCOT’s World Showcase, where you can snap photos in front of iconic landmarks from different countries. Take a selfie in front of the Mexico pavilion’s Aztec temple, or pose with the torii gate at the Japan pavilion.

EPCOT has many beautiful spots to stop and take a photo throughout the theme park.

Pandora’s Alien Aesthetics

Enter the world of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and you’ll be transported to a breathtaking alien landscape.

The World of Avatar offers plenty of photo opportunities, from the floating mountains to the bioluminescent plants. Don’t miss the chance to snap a photo in front of the iconic Tree of Souls, or the Na’vi River Journey attraction’s colorful wall.

No matter which themed photo wall you choose, you’re sure to capture some amazing memories at Disney. Just remember to have fun and strike a pose!

Practical Tips for Disney Photo Enthusiasts

If you’re a photo enthusiast visiting Disney, you’ll want to capture all the magical moments of your trip. Here are some practical tips to help you get the best photos possible:

Best Times for Crowd-Free Photos

Disney can get pretty crowded, making it difficult to get the perfect shot. To avoid the crowds, try taking photos early in the morning or late at night. These times are typically less busy and will give you more opportunities for crowd-free photos.

I often will arrive right to the theme park at opening time, to not head straight to a ride, but get some great crowd-less photos!

Finding the Perfect Angle

When taking photos at Disney, it’s important to find the perfect angle. Try taking photos from different angles to capture the best shot.

Some of my favorite photos have been taken from a low right hand angle while I look off into the distance the opposite direction. You can also use the walkways and paths to your advantage to get a better view of the scenery.

Utilizing Disney PhotoPass Service

Disney PhotoPass is a great service that allows you to get photos taken by professional photographers throughout the park. You can use the My Disney Experience app to view and download your photos.

Found in photo: Tinkerbell Dress / Tinkerbell Ears / White Sandals

You can also purchase a Memory Maker package to get unlimited downloads of all your photos. As an annual passholder, I’ve added this option onto my annual pass and it has been well worth it for a year of fun photos!

When using Disney PhotoPass, be sure to look for PhotoPass photographers throughout the park. They will be wearing a uniform and carrying a camera, so they’re easy to spot. You can also sometimes ask them to take a photo with your own camera or phone.

Beyond the Parks: Resort and Hidden Gems

If you’re looking for some great photo opportunities beyond the theme parks, Disney’s resorts and hidden gems offer a wealth of options. Here are some of the best spots to capture memorable photos.

Disney Springs Photo Opportunities

Disney Springs even has some photo opportunities throughout the grounds.

Resort Relaxation Spots

Disney’s resorts are known for their luxurious amenities and stunning views, making them the perfect backdrop for your vacation photos.

The Contemporary Resort’s rooftop lounge, California Grill, offers panoramic views of Magic Kingdom and is a great place to snap a photo at sunset.

Across the lake over at the Grand Floridian, there are lots of great photo spots right in the lobby area!

Hidden Mickeys and Secret Walls

Disney is famous for its hidden Mickeys, and there are plenty of them to be found throughout the parks and resorts. Searching for hidden Mickeys has been one of my favorite trip objectives. Did you know that there are some hidden Mickeys around around some of the photo ops mentioned above as well too!

The Fichwa Fellow wall has a hidden Mickey Easter egg right in the language of the wall. In Swahili, “fichwa” means “hidden”, indicating that the imagineers were giving a playful nod to the fun concept of hidden Mickeys!

Off the Path Photo Locations

There are some outstanding photo wall locations that are a bit lesser known as well. All of the World Showcase countries have quiet spots that also make great photo spots.

The Morocco Pavilion at EPCOT is full of hidden gems, including intricate tile work and hidden doors that lead to secret courtyards. (This also makes a great place to rest in the shade in the tables at the back!)

For a more whimsical photo op, head to the UK Pavilion to take a photo in a red phone booth.

And if you’re looking for something a bit more thrilling, Expedition Everest and Avatar Flight of Passage both offer recognizable and Instagram-worthy photo opportunities just outside of their ride queues.

Disney’s resorts and hidden gems offer a wealth of photo opportunities for those willing to explore beyond the parks. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing backdrop or a hidden Mickey hunt, there’s something for everyone.

The Evolution of Disney’s Photo Walls

The first photo walls at Disney were simple and unassuming, often just featuring a character or a simple backdrop. However, as social media became more prevalent, Disney recognized the opportunity to create more elaborate and photogenic spots that would attract visitors and generate buzz.

One of the first photo walls to gain popularity was the “Purple Wall” at Magic Kingdom. This wall, located in Tomorrowland, was originally just a plain purple wall, but visitors started taking photos in front of it and posting them on social media. Disney recognized the trend and added a geometric design to the wall, making it even more photogenic.

Since then, Disney has continued to create more elaborate and creative photo walls. From the “Bubblegum Wall” at EPCOT to the “Moss Wall” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, each wall has its own unique story and construction. These walls have become so popular that they even have their own hashtag, #WallsOfDisney, and have become a must-visit spot for visitors.

As technology and social media continue to evolve, photo walls and spots created especially to capture memories are increasingly important.

Finding Your Favorite Photo Spot

Disney has some of the best photo walls that provide a perfect backdrop for your Instagram-worthy pictures. From the iconic purple wall in Magic Kingdom to the bubblegum wall in EPCOT, there is no shortage of options to choose from.
