Recommendations for all of the tech we bring along on our Disney World trips are below!

The Right Tech is Important

Having the right tech gear will help you to:

  • Avoid dead batteries during long days away from your resort room.
  • Stay organized!
  • Maximize ride reservations, photo ops, and mobile ordering.
  • Keep the whole family connected as you explore.

What You’ll Use Your Phone for at Disney World

When you’re at Disney, you’ll be using your phone a LOT! You can do everything from ordering food to checking wait times on your mobile device. So this is one of the most crucial things to keep charged up!

I also like to bring my laptop to get some work done in the rooms at night, this is of course optional if you’re on a true vacation! And when we travel we bring an iPad to both listen to audiobooks on the plane and use as a backup device. In the theme parks though, my phone is my “go to” device to keep our schedule on track and interact with the Disney World app!

Top Tech Gear You Should Bring to Disney

Here’s my list of essentials to consider packing for your trip! Starting with the right bag to carry everything in!

Travel Backpack: We Love the Tumi Voyaguer Montana Backpack

The TUMI Montana Backpack is the perfect backpack to hold all your gear while you are having fun around the park. It’s super durable, stylish to go with any outfit, and the perfect size to carry on the airplane.

There’s plenty of space for all your devices, chargers, and anything else you might need, and it’s comfortable to wear when traveling. Plus, this bag includes Tumi Tracer®, a complimentary program that helps reunite lost or stolen bags with their rightful owners if they’re lost.

If you’re looking for a slightly smaller version that is perfect to wear in the theme parks, we also have the TUMI Halsey Backpack, which works great for quick travel trips and to keep your items organized during the day at the theme park!

Quick tip: Toss a spare phone charger in your travel bag, that way you always have one on hand.

Our Portable Power Pick: Rorry Portable Charger

This compact, yet high-capacity, charger will help keep your devices charged throughout the day, whether you have a place to plug in or not.

It’s easy to share among family members since one charger works for multiple devices. Just make sure you power it up the night before you head out so you have plenty of charge to last through the day! It has a regular plug which makes it easy to charge, at the airport or at night in your resort room.

This Portable Charger by Rorry is perfect for high-power users and longer park days when you won’t be back stopping back in your room.

If you’re looking for another option that doesn’t use cords, this MagSafe Charger is perfect for quick mid-day top-ups on your power supply.

FuelRod (Single and Two-Pack)

The FuelRod is another portable charging device but offers the convenience of swapping with another fully charged FuelRod at any FuelRod Kiosk nationwide.

  • Bonus: FREE swaps inside Disney World!
    • One of the last places in the country that still offers free FuelRod swaps.
    • Swap stations located throughout parks.
    • Bring in your older style FuelRods to swap them out for the new (as of 2025) version kit!

Buy a FuelRod (or two) before you go, then swap as needed while in the parks! I bring one of these with me as an emergency backup even when I have other chargers with me!

If you’re getting a new FuelRod kit for the first time, you’ll receive the small cords to use for a range of phones. I always like to toss some mini cords down in my park bag, to make sure I have a cord on hand to use with chargers as well!

How to Stay Charged All Day at Disney

To keep everything charged and ready while you are out and about during the day at Disney World, here’s what you need to do:

  • Combine a backpack + portable chargers + FuelRod swaps to have plenty of power with you to charge anything you need at any time during the day.
  • Plan charging stops during meals or midday breaks. That way, you know you will be powered up by the time you head out again.
  • Keep cables organized and labeled. Nothing is more frustrating than having a mess of cords that you aren’t sure which goes to what. Keep any cords that you are bringing labeled. These organization bags are perfect to keep things stowed away in!

Bonus Tech Tips for Disney

  • Label chargers with names/colors. This is especially helpful if you are charging multiple devices for multiple people!
  • Download offline Disney park maps and reservations. (I usually screenshot reservations!) This is great to have in case you have trouble accessing the Disney World app while you are at the park.
  • Bring a small cable organizer pouch if you have many charging cords. This will help to keep them from getting tangled.
  • Consider a waterproof phone pouch for rides. If your bag of tech is going on a ride where it might get wet, you should definitely consider a waterproof tech bag to keep everything dry.

Staying powered up on your trip to Disney is important so that you can stay connected and make the most of your trip. With a little advance planning before you pack, you can be all set to go for some stress-free fun.

What Camera Do I Use?

Phones these days have awesome cameras on them! So they can capture your memories with ease, so that you don’t have to bring multiple items along! However it is nice to have a dedicated camera to use for filming, so you’re not draining your phone battery as much.

If you’re wondering what camera we use to get smoother quality videos and videos to create longer YouTube styles, we bring an DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera into the theme parks to capture footage. It creates smooth video with the attached gimbal and is extremely easy to use!
