In June, summer officially kicks off and you’ll want to be prepared for heat in Florida. Athletic gear can be a great choice, since it tends to use moisture wicking fabrics. You’ll want to make sure to bring your swimming gear and make the most of your resort amenities as well!

We often end up at Disney World in the summer months because of it being a convenient time to travel with our school aged children. I’ve also gotten some great deals on deluxe resorts at this time of year, so it can be a great time to try out new resorts too!

What’s the Weather Like in June at Disney World?

As I’m sure you already know, summer in Florida is HOT! Average temperatures in June at Disney World are in the 90-degree range (Fahrenheit) and it is typically quite humid. Also in the afternoons during the summer, it is common to get pop up thunderstorms. So we always like to make sure we have our rain gear packed in the theme park bag.

You’ll also always find a personal fan packed in my theme park bag as well! It helps when standing in lines or on the move!

Afternoons reach the highest temperatures and June is when we typically start using our “Hot Weather Strategy” of going into the theme park in the morning, exiting in the afternoon by around 1pm when the sun is at full strength. And then heading back into the theme park in the evenings for dinner or after dinner.

In the evenings it usually will cool down in the mid-70s range, so it’s a comfortable time to head back into the theme park.

I love wearing dresses at this time of year to stay cool! (I always wear bike shorts underneath them!)

June Specific Packing Essentials

Plan to pack average temperatures in the 90 degree range! June is hot, but you can manage the heat by bringing cooling items like personal fans, cooling towels, and sun umbrellas.

Being ready for the heat should be your main concern at this time of year, so focus on packing lightweight clothing that is breathable. I love a cute outfit, but in the hottest months of the year my outfits are centered on being as light as possible!

You’ll also likely be doing a lot of water activities at this time of year, so we always bring multiple sets of swimming gear and water shoes! They are convenient to walk around on the hot pavement at pools and water parks.

For shoes, bring a few pairs of comfortable walking shoes to alternate between each day. And I like bringing a few different theme park bags to alternate between to match my outfits.
