What to Pack for a June Disney Trip
June at Disney World means hot and humid weather, with occasional rain showers. To stay comfortable and protected, visitors should consider bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. A waterproof rain poncho is also a must-have item to keep dry during sudden downpours.
I like wearing sundresses with bike shorts underneath, as the coolest option to wear while walking around the parks. You also may opt for athletic gear that has sweat wicking properties to keep you dry in the humidity, and make sure that all of the clothing you bring is lightweight and breathable.

Lavender Dress / Lavender Sneakers / Minnie Ear Backpack / Lantern Ears
Sage Dress / Stitch Crossbody Bag / Mint Shoes / Ohana Ears
June is a popular time for families to visit because of summer vacations beginning and it being an easy time to travel for school aged children.
Traveling in June Packing Tips
- Be prepared for rain with a packable jacket or poncho.
- Pools and water parks will be open! Don’t forget your swimsuit!
- Be prepared for the heat and sun with sunscreen and stay hydrated as you tour.
We enjoy visiting Walt Disney World in the summer, but planning ahead to make sure you have all of your heat essentials is imperative this time of year.
June Disney Outfit Inspo
Wearing outfits inspired by characters and attractions in the theme parks is one of my favorite ways to plan an outfit! Check out these easy Disneybound Outfit Ideas for moms to wear!
Below are some of my outfit examples from our June trip last year! I packed plenty of tanks and light weight skirts to wear.
Found in photo: Hula Minnie Tank / Coral Skirt
This character print shirt was a fun choice for a Chef Mickey’s breakfast! We got lots of great photos with characters, from the comfort of air conditioning the entire time! Highly recommend booking a few character meals if you love meeting characters, especially in the summer months!

We also spent some time on that trip at the now closed Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience, so I had plenty of Star Wars outfits along on this trip as well! These are ones I will reuse on our days we head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, since we spend a lot of time in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge when we are there!

I personally like wearing sandals in the theme parks that give me support but allow my feet to not overheat, but make sure your selected shoe choices allow you to walk lots of steps every day!
You may also notice that one key element is missing in all of the above photos… mouse ears! (And you know I love my mouse ears!) As the temperatures rise, I do sometimes forgo wearing mouse ears to keep my hair up in a pony tail or keep any covering off my head that may make me heat up faster. I do find the 3D printed mouse ears to be the most comfortable in the summer and still bring a few pairs of ears to wear with my outfits for photos.
Summer Disney World Packing List
It’s hot and humid in the summer in Florida, so make sure to plan ahead to beat the heat! Sunscreen and lightweight, breathable clothing are a must. We also like to bring personal fans, cooling towels, and hats for our summer trips.
This list includes items to beat the heat in case the temperatures will be hotter when you are there. Towards the end of the month you may start to see humidity and temperatures increase even more.
Disney World’s June Weather
The average temperature in Disney World during June is around 90°F (32°C), with highs reaching up to 95°F (35°C) and lows dropping to around 73°F (23°C) at night. It’s important to note that temperatures can feel much hotter due to Florida’s high humidity levels and bright sun.
June is also known for its frequent afternoon thunderstorms, which can cause sudden downpours and lightning strikes. It’s recommended to bring a poncho or rain jacket to prepare for these sudden changes in weather.
Why Disney World in June?
Even though it is the hottest time of year to visit Walt Disney World, the summer can still be quite fun! It’s a great time to visit the water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, and we also love spending a good amount of time at our resort pool area as well.
This can lead to a more relaxing vacation with plenty of quality family time. During the middle of the day on our summer trips, we always take a break and head back to our resort so we are not in the parks in the hottest part of the day.

Essential Items for June at Disney
Items to be prepared for the heat are a must at this time of year.
We like having all of these items packed to bring with us before we travel to Florida, however if you found that you’re overheating once you’re at the theme parks – most theme parks have sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, fans, and cooling towels available at souvenir shops!
What to put in your Disney Park Bag
You’ll also want to think about what items you’ll want to pack in your theme park bag. These are the items you’ll use throughout the day at the theme park.
Our suggestions on what to pack in your park bag are below:

Mouse Ears / Sunglasses / Ponchos / Autograph Book / Portable Charger
Spray Mister Fan / First Aid Kit / Cooling Towels / Hip Bag / Backpack
Other Park Bag Essentials
You’ll find these essentials handy to have in your Disney park bag all year long:
- Portable charger: With all the photo-taking, ride-waiting, and app-checking you’ll be doing, your phone’s battery will likely drain quickly. Bring a portable charger to keep your devices charged throughout the day.
- Rain poncho or jacket: Those Florida pop up showers happen frequently, so it’s a good idea to pack a rain poncho or light packable jacket.
- Autograph book: If you’re a fan of the characters, bring an autograph book for the characters to sign.
- Snacks and water bottle: Disney World allows outside food and drinks, so bring some snacks and a refillable water bottle to save money and stay hydrated throughout the day.
- Backpack or bag: You’ll need a bag to carry all your essentials, such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and souvenirs. Bring a comfortable backpack or bag that won’t weigh you down during the day.

June Disney Touring Tips
Make the most of your summer trip to Walt Disney World with these touring tips!
- Take an afternoon break to recharge at the resort and spend some time at the pool.
- Plan in a water park day to maximize your water fun!
- Pick out your top things to see that day every morning, so your family has a plan of the “must do” items at each theme park or location.
What else should you bring to Disney World?
There are a few more things to think of while you’re packing. Consider any special needs your family may have and whether you plan to return to your resort room in the middle of the day.
I like to keep multiple phone chargers in my park bag, because I know I will be taking lots of photos, and I also will need extra camera batteries.
Travel Documents
You’ll want to make sure to remember these items during your trip to Disney World:
- Valid government-issued ID: This can be a driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued ID. You will need this to enter the park and to purchase alcohol if you are of legal drinking age.
- Disney World tickets: Make sure to bring your tickets with you to the park. You can either print them out or have them on your phone through the My Disney Experience app.
- MagicBands: If you have a MagicBand, make sure to bring it with you to the park. This will serve as your park ticket, hotel room key, and can be used to make purchases throughout the park.
- Reservation confirmations: If you have made any dining reservations or Genie+ selections, these confirmations will be on your phone.
Health and Safety Items
There are First Aid Stations available in all of the theme parks that you can get wellness supplies, as well as use for a quiet place for mothers with little ones. These items below I like to keep on hand, just in case!
- Hand sanitizer: Always good to have at meals or after going through a ride line, keep this handy to make sure little ones don’t pick up germs.
- Sunscreen: That Florida sun is hot! Re-apply sunscreen throughout the day to make sure you don’t get a sunburn. (And I like to travel with a Sun Bum After Sun spray, just in case!)
- First-aid kit: I like having items on hand like bandaids, ointment, and bug spray sticks to make sure we can take care of any minor bumps or bites that may happen during our travels.
- Reusable water bottle: You can fill this up throughout the parks to stay hydrated.
Food and Snacks
If your family wants to have breakfast in the resort room, consider having an Amazon Fresh order dropped off at bell services. You can keep items like GoGo Squeez, yogurt, cereal, and more on hand to have in the room for quick snacks.
Plan snack breaks into your day, and while there are plenty of kiosks and options throughout the parks, it is always a good idea to have some snacks on hand in your park bag. Especially for little ones that may have a set diet or food preferences.
One option in addition to asking for cups of water at quick service restaurants is to bring a reusable water bottle. Ask for your free glass of water and then keep your water bottle replenished as you tour the parks.
