Each of the three value resorts:Â All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, and All-Star Sports – feature larger-than-life decor based on classic Disney films, musical genres, and sports.Â
For purposes of review, I’ve grouped these three resorts into one post because they are all quite similar in their amenities and what it feels like to stay there. When you decide you want to stay at an All-Star Resort you can pick the theme – Movies, Music, or Sports – that best resonates with your family to tailor the experience to your family’s preferences!

Overview of Disney All-Star Resorts
If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World and looking for an affordable and fun place to stay, the Disney All-Star Resorts might be just what you’re looking for.Â
These three resorts are located on the Disney property and offer guests a chance to stay in a themed resort at a budget-friendly price. They are grouped together for this review because staying at all of these resorts feels quite similar, the theme of the resort and whether you’re interested in the family suites at All Star Music are the two biggest differentiators between the All-Star Resorts.
Resort Themes
Each of the three All-Star Resorts has a unique theme that sets it apart from the others.
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is perfect for sports enthusiasts with its larger-than-life sports equipment and memorabilia.Â
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort celebrates the world of music with giant musical instruments and themed areas inspired by different genres of music.Â
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort immerses guests in the magic of the movies, with larger-than-life characters and sets from classic Disney films.
Accommodation Types
Disney’s All-Star Resorts offer a variety of accommodation types to fit different group sizes and budgets. All three resorts offer standard rooms with two double beds, one being a Murphy bed that pulls down at all three of the All-Star resorts.
The family suites at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort have a separate bedroom with a queen bed and a living area with a double sleeper sofa and a twin sleeper chair.
Pricing Range
One of the biggest draws of the All-Star Resorts is their affordability. Prices vary depending on the time of year and the type of room you choose, but generally, you can expect to pay less than you would at many other Disney resorts. Standard rooms typically start at around $100 per night, while family suites start at around $300 per night.
Disney’s All-Star Resorts are a great option for families or groups looking for a fun and affordable place to stay on their Disney vacation. With unique themes, a variety of accommodation types, and budget-friendly pricing, these resorts offer a great value for your money.
Location and Transportation
The All-Star Resorts are located in the Animal Kingdom area, just a short drive away from the parks. Buses run frequently to all of the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs.
In the mornings, there can be a bit of a line waiting to get to the theme parks, so if you have a reservation you’re trying to get to it is best to build in a bit of extra time to make it to your next location. On my recent trip to All-Star Music Resort, I found that the buses were in ample supply and running quite often. I never had to wait over 20 minutes for a bus on that trip.
The location and transportation options at the Disney’s All-Star Resorts are convenient and budget-friendly. The proximity to the parks and the complimentary shuttle service make it easy to get around and enjoy all that Disney World has to offer.
All-Star Resort Rooms
Comfort and Amenities
The rooms at Disney’s All-Star Resorts are comfortable and well-equipped with amenities to make your stay enjoyable. Standard rooms feature a queen size bed with a pull down Murphy bed that doubles as a table.
Rooms with only a king size bed are also available, and offer a bit of additional floor space and storage space for suitcases.
The beds are comfortable and the pillows are soft, making it easy to get a good night’s sleep. The rooms are air-conditioned and you can set the temperature at the range in which your are most comfortable, a helpful feature when coming inside from the Florida heat. The rooms also include a mini-fridge, a coffee maker, and a flat-screen TV.
The bathrooms are clean and functional, with a shower and tub combo. They have a good amount of space to hold all of your toiletries and there is a small closet space to stow away some clothing and items like shoes.
To maximize space, I did find that having a hanging toiletry bag was convenient to be able to place on one of the towel bars and keep the counter space clear.
Decor and Cleanliness
The decor of the rooms is modern and bright, with a fun Disney themed image over the bed area. I typically stay at one of the All-Star Resorts when I’m on solo trips, and there is more than enough storage for solo travelers, couples, or small families.
All-Star Resorts Dining Options
On-Site Restaurants
When it comes to dining options, all of the Disney All-Star Resorts have plenty to offer. There are several on-site restaurants, each with their own unique menu and atmosphere. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or a sit-down meal, you’re sure to find something that suits your taste.
One of the most popular restaurants at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is the End Zone Food Court. This cafeteria-style eatery serves up a variety of American favorites, including burgers, pizza, and sandwiches. There are also plenty of options for kids, including chicken nuggets and mac and cheese.
At Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, there is the Intermission Food Court that had a wide variety of dishes at all times of day. I typically would eat my breakfast here before heading into the parks, it is also open late in case you need a night time snack!
For those who prefer a dining experience with more variety, Disney’s All-Star Movies has the World Premiere Food Court is a great choice. This restaurant offers a wide selection of international cuisine, including Asian, Italian, and Mexican dishes. There are also plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options available.
If you’re looking for a quick snack or a sweet treat, be sure to check out the on-site snack bars and ice cream stands. These offer a variety of snacks and desserts, including popcorn, churros, and Mickey Mouse-shaped ice cream bars.
Recreation and Entertainment at the All-Star Resorts
Pools and Water Play Areas
Disney’s All-Star Resorts offer a variety of pools and water play areas that cater to both children and adults. The main pool area is located in the central area of the resort and features a large pool with a fun splash area for kids. The pool is surrounded by lounge chairs, tables, and umbrellas, providing a great place to relax and soak up the sun.
In addition to the main pool, each of the three themed areas of the resort has its own pool. The Surfboard Bay pool is decorated with giant surfboards and has a small water slide. The Rock Inn pool is designed to look like a guitar and has a pool bar. The Hoops Hotel pool is basketball-themed and features a fun splash area for kids.
Other Recreational Activities
Aside from the pools, Disney’s All-Star Resorts offer a variety of other recreational activities. There are several playgrounds located throughout the resort, providing a fun place for kids to run around and play. The resort also has a jogging trail that winds around the property, offering a great way to stay active and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
There are even fire pits where you can roast marshmallows on cooler evenings!

Comparisons with Other Disney Resorts
When it comes to Disney resorts, there are plenty of options to choose from, each with its own unique features and benefits. Here, we’ll take a look at how Disney’s All-Star Resorts compare to some of the other popular Disney resorts.
Value Resorts
Disney’s All-Star Resorts are considered value resorts, which means they offer affordable pricing without sacrificing quality. Compared to other value resorts like Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, the All-Star Resorts offer similar amenities and accommodations.Â
However, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort have a slight edge over the All-Star Resorts, due to Pop Century and Art of Animation being located on the Disney Skyliner line. Making it easier to get back and forth to the parks with more transportation options.
Moderate Resorts
If you’re looking for a step up from the value resorts, Disney’s moderate resorts offer more luxurious amenities and accommodations.Â
Resorts like Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort offer more spacious rooms, multiple pools, and additional dining options. However, these resorts come with a higher price tag than the value resorts, making them less budget-friendly.
Often times for our family of four, we have started opting for the moderate resorts to have a bit more space in the room and more amenities at the resort. If you’re looking to compare the Value Resorts to Moderate Resorts, check our Ranking of Moderate Resorts for Families.
Deluxe Resorts
For the ultimate Disney experience, the deluxe resorts offer top-of-the-line amenities and accommodations. Resorts like Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge offer fine dining options, spa services, and even savannah views with live animals. Deluxe resorts come with a much higher price tag compared to the value and moderate resorts.
Disney’s All-Star Resorts offer a great value for budget-conscious travelers who still want to experience the magic of Disney. While they may not offer the same level of luxury as the moderate and deluxe resorts, they still provide comfortable accommodations and plenty of Disney-themed fun.
Tips and Recommendations
If you are planning to stay at Disney All-Star Resorts, here are a few tips and recommendations to make the most out of your stay:
1. Take Advantage of the Resort Amenities
The Disney All-Star Resorts offer several amenities that are included in your stay, such as the swimming pools, arcades, and playgrounds. Make sure to take advantage of these amenities to enhance your vacation experience. The pools are particularly enjoyable, with fun themes and plenty of seating areas for lounging.
2. Use the Complimentary Transportation
Disney All-Star Resorts offer complimentary transportation to and from the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. Take advantage of this service to save time and money on transportation. The buses run frequently, so you usually won’t have to wait long for a ride. Just make sure to check the schedule and plan your day accordingly.
3. Plan Your Meals Ahead of Time
While the Disney All-Star Resorts offer several dining options, they can get crowded during peak meal times. To avoid the crowds and long lines, plan your meals ahead of time.
4. Bring Your Own Supplies
While the Disney All-Star Resorts provide basic toiletries such as shampoo, soap, and towels, you may want to bring your own supplies to enhance your stay. Consider bringing your own sunscreen, insect repellent, and even a portable fan to stay cool during the hot summer months.
Would I Stay at a Disney All Star Resort Again?
Disney’s All-Star Resorts offer an affordable and convenient value option for families and couples looking to stay on Disney property. The resorts provide a fun and immersive experience with their themed decor and amenities.
I swing back to the All-Star Resorts (primarily Movies or Music) when I’m looking for a budget friendly room on trips where I’m spending most of my time in the parks and not as concerned about resort amenities. These resorts have also worked great as a one night stay before or after a cruise.
If you are looking for a budget-friendly option with a touch of Disney magic, Disney’s All-Star Resorts are definitely worth considering. Just keep in mind that you may sacrifice some luxury and space for the convenience and affordability.
