Create your looks that are perfect for Disney theme parks made of regular clothing pieces that are comfortable to wear. For tweens, they can use clothing already in their closet that will work with their Disney outfit ideas or find a few new items that work best for the characters they have in mind.

I suggest picking their top two to three characters that they would like to craft an outfit around for their Walt Disney World or other Disney Parks trip, then get to work putting pieces and accessories together to create a look.

5 Easy Steps to Creating Your Disneybound

  1. Choose a Character
  2. Research and Find Inspiration
  3. Color Palette and Patterns
  4. Choose Clothing Pieces
  5. Accessorize

Choose a Character

Start by having your tween pick their favorite Disney character, and narrow it down to no more than 2-3 characters to focus on at one time. These characters could be from movies, TV shoes, or even the theme park attractions.

Consider what they like about the characters – their outfit colors, personality, signature accessories, or other attributes.

Research and Find Inspiration

Watch movies and shows to revisit the character’s story! Search online to find photos of your character, this will help you hone in on different clothing color choices and accessory choices.

Color Palette and Patterns

Note the primary colors of the character’s outfit and incorporate them into your outfit choices. Look for patterns or textures that are specific to your character.

Choose Clothing Pieces

Use everyday items from your current wardrobe that match the character’s color. Or if your tween needs new pieces, take a fun shopping trip to find the perfect character inspired items. This can be a fun part of the trip planning process!

Accessorize with Your Character in Mind

Use signature accessories that are iconic to the character, like a big bow for Minnie Mouse or seashell necklace for Ariel. Encourage your tween to make a special accessory for their outfit if they love to craft. This adds a personal touch.

Bonus Step: Have Fun!

One of my favorite movies growing up was The Little Mermaid and it’s been reimagined for the new generation! This is a classic tale that is fun to put an outfit together for, check out this tween outfit that is comfortable and inspired by Ariel:

Other Character Outfit Ideas

Disney clothes don’t have to feel childish or too young for your tween. They can also choose characters from the Villians lineup, Star Wars, or Marvel for a unique twist on some of their favorites.

If it’s their first time creating a Disneybound, this is a great way for them to try out new clothing styles and they may even find some new favorites.

Crafting Your Disneybound Ensemble

By using everyday clothing items and accessories, you can create an ensemble that is inspired by your favorite Disney character. Start by choosing a color palette that is associated with your chosen character, and then look for clothing items that fit within that color scheme.

Adding accessories like hats, jewelry, and bags can also help tie the look together. This is a fun way to make your Disney outfits both unique to you and is a way to express your unique style!

Disneybounding is a great option for different occasions, whether you’re heading to a theme park or just hanging out with friends. You can tailor your outfit to fit the occasion by choosing clothing items that are appropriate for the weather and the activities you’ll be doing.

Essential Disneybound Elements

To create a Disneybound outfit, you need to incorporate essential elements of the character’s style into your ensemble. This can be achieved through color schemes, patterns, and clothing items that reflect the character’s style. You can also accessorize with a Disney-themed backpack or hat. One of my favorite things to add to my outfits is a backpack that works as an outfit accessory and is also functional to carry everything I need around the parks!

Choose a classic character like Snow White, Minnie Mouse or Goofy to keep your outfit classic!

Classic Disney Ride Disneybounds

You don’t have to keep your outfits to just characters either! Ride themed Disneybounds are a fun way to show your love for specific rides. The Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite Disney rides, and you can choose from so many options to make a happy haunts inspired outfit!

Seasonal Disney Events

Disney Parks is the place to be during the holidays and there are a number of specialseasonal events throughout the year, especially for Halloween and Christmas.

For Halloween, consider dressing up inspired by your favorite Disney villain or spooky character, while for Christmas, you can wear a festive sweater or dress in red and green. You can also incorporate Disney characters into your outfit, with a fun holiday Loungefly mini backpack.
