Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is part of the All-Star Resort family, along with Disney’s All-Star Music Resort and Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. These resorts are all similar in layout and overall value-style amenities, but each one has its own theme and personality.

All-Star Movies Resort is the one that leans heavily into Disney movie fun, with oversized icons from films like Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians, Fantasia, Herbie: The Love Bug, and The Mighty Ducks. If you have kids who love seeing big Disney characters and having fun photo spots throughout the resort, this resort has a lot of appeal.

All-Star Movies Resort Highlights

  • A fun Disney movie theme with oversized character icons throughout the resort.
  • A good choice for families who want to stay on Disney property at a lower price point.
  • Two pools, including the Fantasia-themed main pool with Sorcerer Mickey.
  • A convenient food court with plenty of quick-service options for families.
  • Bus transportation to the Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs.

We really enjoy the All-Star Resorts when we are looking to plan a budget friendly trip, and these are a great introduction to staying at a Disney Resort.

Overview of Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is a Disney Value Resort located in the Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort Area. This resort is themed around classic Disney movies and features colorful outdoor spaces, larger-than-life movie icons, and a playful atmosphere that feels very Disney from the moment you arrive.

The overall feel here is casual, fun, and family-focused. This is not a quiet or upscale resort, but that is not what it is trying to be. All-Star Movies is designed to be cheerful, affordable, and easy for families who want to stay on Disney property without paying deluxe or moderate resort prices.

Our kids loved staying at this resort because of the big characters and the fun movie theme. It is the kind of resort where kids can get excited just walking around and spotting the different themed areas.

Location and Accessibility

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is located in the Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort Area. It is not a walkable resort to any of the theme parks, so you will be relying on Disney bus transportation or your own vehicle to get around Walt Disney World.

Bus transportation is available from the resort to the Walt Disney World theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. For a Value Resort, this is generally the primary transportation option, so it is worth keeping in mind when planning your park days.

If you are comparing Disney Value Resorts, transportation is one of the biggest factors to think about. You will not have Skyliner access here like you would at Disney’s Pop Century Resort or Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, but you do still get the convenience of Disney transportation included with your resort stay.

Buses run frequently at the All-Star Resorts, and for some trips this works just great. I circle back around to the All-Star Resorts when there is an exceptionally great deal, for quick trips, and for trips when I’ll be in the theme park most of the time.

Resort Theme and Atmosphere

The theming is really where All-Star Movies shines. My kids love the large themed areas at these Value Resorts! The Movies resort has five main themed sections:

Toy Story

The Toy Story section is one of the most popular areas of the resort, especially for families with younger kids. The oversized toys and bright colors make this area feel playful and nostalgic.

This is also a fun section for photos, especially if your family loves Toy Story!

101 Dalmatians

The 101 Dalmatians section is another favorite, with big character icons and fun details that fans of the movie will enjoy.

This area is especially cute for families and is another good photo spot around the resort.

Fantasia

The Fantasia area is home to the resort’s main pool, which makes this one of the busier and more central sections of the resort.

The Fantasia theming includes Sorcerer Mickey to give the pool area a classic Disney feel.

Herbie: The Love Bug

The Herbie section brings in a different kind of classic Disney movie theming. This area is fun, colorful, and a little more retro compared to some of the other sections.

Personally this would be my last choice for area to stay in, but there are some fun photo opportunities over here!

The Mighty Ducks

The Mighty Ducks section has its own pool area, the Duck Pond Pool, which is themed like a hockey rink. This section can be nice if you want to be near the quieter pool rather than the main Fantasia Pool.

Overall, the resort theme is bold, colorful, and very kid-friendly. If you want a resort that feels “Disney” in a very obvious way, All-Star Movies is a strong fit at a lower end price!

Types of Accommodations

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort has standard-style Value Resort rooms. These rooms are simple and practical, designed for families who will likely spend most of their time in the parks or enjoying the resort pools rather than hanging out in the room all day.

The rooms at Disney Value Resorts are generally more compact than what you will find at Moderate or Deluxe Resorts, but they work well for many families who want to save money and still stay on Disney property.

It is also worth noting that Disney has announced a planned room refurbishment at All-Star Movies, which began in late May 2026 and continues through the end of January 2027. During that time, guests may notice construction in some areas, so check before booking if your stay falls within that window.

Standard Rooms

Standard rooms are a good option if you are trying to keep your Disney vacation costs down. They will be the lowest priced rooms at the resort, and the All-Star Standard rooms will be some of the lowest cost options on property.

These rooms may have views of resort areas such as landscaping, courtyards, or parking areas, depending on the specific room location.

Preferred Rooms

Preferred rooms are typically located closer to the main building, dining, transportation, or feature pool. If you are traveling with young kids, a stroller, or anyone who gets tired easily after long park days, paying extra for a preferred location can sometimes be worth considering. When I stay in the Value Resorts, I always try to get a Preferred Room location!

At a resort with outdoor buildings and bus transportation, location can make a difference in how much walking you are doing at the beginning and end of each day.

Amenities and In Room Features

As a Disney Value Resort, All-Star Movies includes the standard resort benefits and amenities you would expect from staying on Walt Disney World property. Guests have access to Disney transportation, complimentary Wi-Fi, online check-in, the My Disney Experience app, laundry facilities, pools, and other family-friendly resort features.

In the rooms, you can expect a practical setup for a Disney vacation. These rooms are not the most spacious or luxurious, but they are designed to give families a comfortable place to sleep, shower, and recharge between park days.

For many families, that is exactly what they need from a Disney resort room.

Dining Options

All-Star Movies has one main dining location, the World Premiere Food Court. Since this is a Value Resort, you will not find table-service dining here, but the food court offers a wide selection of quick-service meals throughout the day.

World Premiere Food Court

World Premiere Food Court is the main dining option at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a setting inspired by a grand movie theater lobby.

This is a convenient spot for families because there are usually plenty of options to choose from. You can find items like pizza, burgers, wraps, bakery items, breakfast options, and other quick-service meals.

For families with kids, this kind of food court setup can be really helpful. Everyone can choose something different, and you do not have to commit to a long sit-down meal when you are tired after a park day.

Mobile ordering can also make meals easier, especially if you are trying to grab food on your way back from the parks or before heading out in the morning.

Recreation and Entertainment

All-Star Movies offers several recreation options that make it fun for families, especially on arrival or departure day, or during a slower resort afternoon.

This is not a resort with elaborate recreation like some of the Deluxe Resorts, but it still has enough to keep kids entertained when you are taking a break from the parks.

Pools and Aquatic Fun

The main pool at All-Star Movies is the Fantasia Pool. This pool is inspired by Disney’s Fantasia and features Sorcerer Mickey spraying water. It is the resort’s feature pool and is usually the busier of the two pool areas.

There is also the Duck Pond Pool in the Mighty Ducks section of the resort. This pool is hockey rink-themed and is a nice second option if you are staying in that area or want a change of scenery.

For families, having two pool options is a definite benefit. The Fantasia Pool gives you the main themed pool experience, while the Duck Pond Pool can feel a little more relaxed depending on the time of day.

Movies Under the Stars

Like many Disney resorts, All-Star Movies offers Movies Under the Stars on select nights. This is a fun and simple way to enjoy a slower evening at the resort without needing another park ticket or reservation.

For families with kids, this can be a nice option after a pool afternoon or on a day when you want to return to the resort earlier.

Playground and Arcade

All-Star Movies also has a playground and the Reel Fun Arcade. These are nice extras if you are spending time at the resort and need something easy for the kids to do between meals, pool time, or park plans.

Transportation at All-Star Movies Resort

Transportation at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is by bus. This means you will use Disney bus transportation to get to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and the water parks.

This is one of the main differences between All-Star Movies and some of the other Disney Value Resorts. If you are comparing it to Pop Century or Art of Animation, those resorts have access to the Disney Skyliner. All-Star Movies does not.

That does not mean All-Star Movies is a bad choice, but it is important to plan for bus transportation when thinking through your mornings and evenings. You may want to allow extra time, especially if you are heading to an early reservation or trying to arrive for rope drop. I’ll even grab a Uber or Lyft ride share from time to time, especially at the end of the evening when I’m ready to get back to the resort!

Who Is All-Star Movies Best For?

All-Star Movies is best for families who want a fun Disney resort experience at a lower price point. It is especially appealing for families with young kids who will enjoy the oversized character icons and playful movie theming.

This resort is also a good option if you plan to spend most of your vacation in the parks and mostly need a clean, convenient place to sleep and recharge.

It may not be the best fit if you are looking for a quiet, upscale resort, larger rooms, multiple dining options, or transportation options beyond buses. In that case, you may want to compare it with Disney Moderate Resorts or Deluxe Resorts.

Tips for Staying at All-Star Movies Resort

  • Choose a preferred room if being close to the food court, buses, or main pool is important for your family.
  • Plan ahead for bus transportation, especially on early park mornings.
  • Take time to walk around the resort and see the different themed areas. The big character icons are part of the fun.
  • Use mobile ordering at World Premiere Food Court when possible to make meals easier.
  • Check Disney’s current refurbishment details before booking if your stay falls between May 2026 and January 2027.
  • Consider this resort if your family wants a budget-friendly Disney stay with very obvious Disney theming.

Would I Stay at All-Star Movies Resort Again?

Yes, this is a resort that I would swing back around to again! Especially for a family trip where the goal is to stay on Disney property at a lower price point while still getting fun Disney theming. And the Value Resorts also work great for solo trips when you aren’t looking to spend a ton on your resort too.

All-Star Movies is not the most luxurious Disney resort, and it does not have the transportation advantages of some other resorts. But it is cheerful, family-friendly, and full of Disney movie details that kids can really enjoy. It’s a great way to be “in the bubble” at a minimal cost!

For families looking at the Value Resort category, this is one of the resorts that feels the most fun for younger kids because of the larger-than-life characters and movie-themed areas. If that is the kind of Disney resort experience your family is looking for, All-Star Movies is definitely worth considering.
