Temperatures in April should be warm and pleasant, so dress for comfort and sunny days! We make sure to pack sunscreen no matter what time of year it is, and if you’re sensitive to the sun you may even want to include a hat.

This list includes items to beat the heat in case the temperatures will be hotter when you are there. Towards the end of the month you may start to see humidity and temperatures increase.

Disney World’s April Weather

The weather at Walt Disney World in April is generally dry, with lower humidity and minimal rainfall compared to the summer months. Pop up showers may happen, so it is always good to be prepared for a bit of rain. Visitors can expect mostly sunny and moderate conditions, and the humidity hasn’t kicked into its highest gear yet.

With average temperatures in April ranging from the mid-70s to low 80s Fahrenheit (24-29°C), it is a great time to visit weather wise. Humidity will not be at its highest point, compared to visiting in July or August, and you should have the best of both worlds of being able to do outdoor activities like swimming and splash pad, while not having the hottest temperatures of the year.

Essential Clothing Items for April at Disney

When you’re packing for Walt Disney World in April, you can plan for warm weather and make sure you have some sun preparedness items. Here are some essential items to pack for your trip:

  • Comfortable Shoes: With all the walking you’ll be doing at Disney World, it’s important to have comfortable shoes. Be sure to bring a pair that you’ve worn before and that won’t cause blisters or other foot problems.
  • Rain Gear: Just in case, after all April showers are said to bring May flowers! (Although with Flower and Garden Festival they are there all spring long!)
  • Hats and Sunglasses: Even though it will not be as strong as in the summer, the sun can still be strong in Florida. Be sure to pack a hat and sunglasses to protect your face and eyes from the sun’s rays.

These items will help you maximize the fun and be ready for the best day ever at Walt Disney World.

All Year Round Park Bag Essentials

You’ll find these essentials handy to have in your Disney park bag all year long:

  • Portable charger: With all the photo-taking, ride-waiting, and app-checking you’ll be doing, your phone’s battery will likely drain quickly. Bring a portable charger to keep your devices charged throughout the day.
  • Rain poncho or jacket: Those Florida pop up showers happen frequently, so it’s a good idea to pack a rain poncho or light packable jacket.
  • Autograph book: If you’re a fan of the characters, bring an autograph book for the characters to sign.
  • Snacks and water bottle: Disney World allows outside food and drinks, so bring some snacks and a refillable water bottle to save money and stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • Backpack or bag: You’ll need a bag to carry all your essentials, such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and souvenirs. Bring a comfortable backpack or bag that won’t weigh you down during the day.

Spring Disney Touring Tips

Spring time is a beautiful time to visit Disney! There will be lots of flowers and topiaries, plus mild weather and tolerable crowds.

  • Take some time to stop and see the different topiaries at the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival.
  • There’s lots to see and do, so plan in a mid-day break to head back to the resort for some pool time and relaxation.
  • Pick out your top things to see that day every morning, so your family has a plan of the “must do” items at each theme park or location.

Spring is a fun time to visit Walt Disney World and you can really maximize your Disney experience by going at this time of year. The weather is pleasant and the crowds are manageable. Plan in lots of snack and pool breaks, and you have the recipe for a perfect Disney day!

What else should you bring to Disney World?

There are a few more things to think of while you’re packing. Consider any special needs your family may have and whether you plan to return to your resort room in the middle of the day.

I like to keep multiple phone chargers in my park bag, because I know I will be taking lots of photos, and I also will need extra camera batteries.

Travel Documents

You’ll want to make sure to remember these items during your trip to Disney World:

  • Valid government-issued ID: This can be a driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued ID. You will need this to enter the park and to purchase alcohol if you are of legal drinking age.
  • Disney World tickets: Make sure to bring your tickets with you to the park. You can either print them out or have them on your phone through the My Disney Experience app.
  • MagicBands: If you have a MagicBand, make sure to bring it with you to the park. This will serve as your park ticket, hotel room key, and can be used to make purchases throughout the park.
  • Reservation confirmations: If you have made any dining reservations or Genie+ selections, these confirmations will be on your phone.

Health and Safety Items

There are First Aid Stations available in all of the theme parks that you can get wellness supplies, as well as use for a quiet place for mothers with little ones. These items below I like to keep on hand, just in case!

  • Hand sanitizer: Always good to have at meals or after going through a ride line, keep this handy to make sure little ones don’t pick up germs.
  • Sunscreen: That Florida sun is hot! Re-apply sunscreen throughout the day to make sure you don’t get a sunburn. (And I like to travel with a Sun Bum After Sun spray, just in case!)
  • First-aid kit: I like having items on hand like bandaids, ointment, and bug spray sticks to make sure we can take care of any minor bumps or bites that may happen during our travels.
  • Reusable water bottle: You can fill this up throughout the parks to stay hydrated.

Food and Snacks

If your family wants to have breakfast in the resort room, consider having an Amazon Fresh order dropped off at bell services. You can keep items like GoGo Squeez, yogurt, cereal, and more on hand to have in the room for quick snacks.

Plan snack breaks into your day, and while there are plenty of kiosks and options throughout the parks, it is always a good idea to have some snacks on hand in your park bag. Especially for little ones that may have a set diet or food preferences.

One option in addition to asking for cups of water at quick service restaurants is to bring a reusable water bottle. Ask for your free glass of water and then keep your water bottle replenished as you tour the parks.
