‘50s Prime Time Cafe
‘50s Prime Time Cafe is one of the most nostalgic dining options at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The restaurant is themed like stepping into a 1950s family kitchen, complete with retro decor, old-fashioned TVs, and servers who may remind you to keep your elbows off the table.
This is a great option if your family enjoys classic comfort food and playful Disney theming. The menu usually includes familiar favorites like fried chicken, pot roast, meatloaf, and other home-style meals. ‘50s Prime Time Cafe is an American, à la carte table service restaurant in Hollywood Studios.
We like this option for families who want a sit-down meal that still feels casual and fun. It’s not the quietest or most refined restaurant in the park, but that’s part of the charm. If your kids enjoy a little bit of silly interaction, this can be a memorable meal.
The Tune-In Lounge is also connected to ’50s Prime Time Cafe, however you don’t need reservations for that one! Just drop in during your Hollywood Studios day by joining the walk-up list.

The Hollywood Brown Derby
The Hollywood Brown Derby is one of the more elevated dining options inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It has a classic Hollywood feel, with a more refined atmosphere than many of the other restaurants in the park.
This is a good choice if you want a quieter break from the crowds or a more grown-up meal while still staying inside Hollywood Studios. The Hollywood Brown Derby is an American table-service restaurant in the higher-price range for dining at Hollywood Studios.
The Hollywood Brown Derby is especially nice for adults, older kids, or families who enjoy a more traditional sit-down restaurant. It may not feel as entertaining for younger children as Hollywood & Vine, Sci-Fi Dine-In, or Roundup Rodeo BBQ, but it’s a wonderful option when you want better food and a calmer dining experience.

Hollywood & Vine
Hollywood & Vine is one of our favorite dining experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios because it combines character dining with a buffet-style meal. It can be a great value if you’re using the Disney Dining Plan.
This restaurant is located in the Echo Lake area of Hollywood Studios and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with Disney characters. Hollywood & Vine is a casual family buffet where guests can meet Disney Junior friends and enjoy Minnie Mouse’s seasonal dining parties.
One of the biggest reasons we love Hollywood & Vine is that it feels different depending on the season. If you visit during different times of the year, Minnie and friends may have different outfits, decor, and seasonal touches. That makes it a fun repeat dining option for families who visit Walt Disney World often.
Hollywood & Vine is also a nice option because the menu is usually broad enough for a variety of tastes. Since it’s a buffet, families can often find something for picky eaters, kids, and adults all in one place.

Roundup Rodeo BBQ
Roundup Rodeo BBQ is located in Toy Story Land and is one of the newer table service restaurants at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This is a family-style BBQ meal where guests are meant to feel like they’ve stepped into Andy’s backyard.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ is a casual dining table-service restaurant in Hollywood Studios featuring a Toy Story-themed BBQ experience.
This is a fun option for families who love Toy Story or want a meal that feels very connected to the park’s theming. Because the meal is served family-style, it can be a nice choice if you don’t want everyone in your group ordering separate meals.
The theming is the real highlight here. Kids who enjoy Toy Story Land will likely enjoy the oversized toy-box feel of the restaurant, and it’s a nice way to extend that part of your Hollywood Studios day. Do note, there are not any characters here! That is a common misconception about this one.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant is one of the most unique restaurants at Walt Disney World. The restaurant is themed like an old drive-in movie theater, and guests sit in car-shaped booths while watching retro sci-fi clips on the big screen.

This is a great option if you want a meal that feels very different from a regular restaurant. The atmosphere is dark, cool, and usually a welcome break from the Florida heat. It’s also a fun choice for families who want strong theming without doing character dining.
Because the setup is more focused on the movie screen than conversation, Sci-Fi can be a nice midday reset if everyone is tired or overstimulated. It’s still fun, but in a quieter way than some of the more interactive dining options. Littles may get scared of the “monsters” on screen if that isn’t their cup of tea!

Oga’s Cantina
Oga’s Cantina is located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and it’s an immersive lounge experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
However, it’s important to know that Oga’s Cantina is not a full meal. Oga’s is an “extra” experience addition to your day, rather than counting it as part of your dining plans.
Oga’s Cantina does not offer a full food menu, but guests can enjoy light snacks along with nonalcoholic and alcoholic drinks.
This can be a very fun stop for families who love Star Wars, especially if you want to experience the atmosphere inside Galaxy’s Edge. There are nonalcoholic options, so it isn’t just for adults, but it’s still best to think of this as a themed lounge experience instead of a restaurant.
If your family is hungry, plan to eat before or after your Oga’s reservation. Nearby quick-service options like Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo or Ronto Roasters may work better for an actual meal.

Which Hollywood Studios Table Service Restaurant Is Best for Families?
The best Hollywood Studios table service restaurant really depends on what kind of meal you want. This dining overview can help you plan your day!
If you want character dining, I recommend Hollywood & Vine. It’s one of our favorites, especially because the character outfits change seasonally and the buffet has a lot of variety.
If you want a fun themed meal, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant and ‘50s Prime Time Cafe are both great choices. Sci-Fi is a little more low-key and immersive, while ‘50s Prime Time has more playful interaction and classic comfort food.
If you want a Toy Story-themed meal, Roundup Rodeo BBQ is the best fit. This is especially fun if you’re already spending a lot of time in Toy Story Land.
If you want the most elevated meal, The Hollywood Brown Derby is the best table service option in the park.
And if you love Star Wars, Oga’s Cantina can be a fun addition, but I would not count it as your main meal.
Our Thoughts on Hollywood Studios Table Service Restaurants
Hollywood Studios has some really fun dining options, and I think it’s one of the better parks for immersive restaurant theming. We love dining here and I return to all of these restaurants quite frequently!
Our favorites are Hollywood & Vine for character dining, and either ‘50s Prime Time Cafe or The Hollywood Brown Derby for a great sit-down meal. Hollywood & Vine is especially easy to recommend for families because of the seasonal character outfits, the buffet menu, and the overall value if you’re using the Disney Dining Plan.
If you only have one Hollywood Studios dining reservation, think about what your family needs most that day. Do you need characters? A quiet break? A themed experience? A bigger meal? That answer will help you choose the best reservation for your group.
