Whether you’re looking for a leisurely table-service meal or a signature Disney dining experience, Brown Derby delivers on ambiance and classic charm. This is one I’ve visited a number of times and it makes a great place to meet Disney friends for a good meal.

Overview of Hollywood Brown Derby

The dining experience at Hollywood Brown Derby combines a sophisticated atmosphere with a menu inspired by classic American cuisine. You can expect wonderful service that enhances your visit, making it a memorable meal whether you’re there for lunch or dinner.

Ambiance and Layout

Hollywood Brown Derby captures the essence of Old Hollywood. The decor features rich wood paneling and elegant details that reflect the Golden Age of Hollywood.

You’ll notice caricatures of famous faces lining the walls, adding to the charm. The restaurant has a cozy yet upscale feel. It’s great for a mid-day break or a relaxing meal after a busy day in the theme park.

Hollywood Brown Derby Menu Selections

The menu features a mix of American cuisine with an upscale twist, with signature dishes like the Famous Cobb Salad, inspired by the original Brown Derby recipe, and the Filet Mignon, which is one of the best steak options in the park.

Guests can also enjoy indulgent seafood, pork chops, and decadent desserts like the Grapefruit Cake, another legendary dish from the original Hollywood location.

The flavors are well-balanced, and while the pricing is on the higher end for in-park dining, the quality of ingredients and refined presentation make it a standout choice for food lovers.

Reservations and Planning

Reservations for The Hollywood Brown Derby are highly recommended, as this signature dining experience is one of the most popular table-service restaurants at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Guests can book reservations up to 60 days in advance (plus length of stay for Disney Resort guests) through the My Disney Experience app or website, and same-day walk-up availability may be limited, especially during peak dining hours.

Meal Pricing

The Hollywood Brown Derby is one of the most expensive dining options at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as it is a signature restaurant with higher-end pricing. Entrées typically range from $30 to $60, with dishes like Filet Mignon and Seafood Cioppino priced at the higher end.

Compared to other table-service restaurants in the park, such as 50’s Prime Time Café or Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, Brown Derby is significantly more expensive, but it offers a more refined dining experience with premium ingredients. While it’s not the best choice for budget-conscious families, it’s a great option for those looking for elevated cuisine in a classic Hollywood setting.

Rating of Hollywood Brown Derby at Hollywood Studios

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is an elegant dining option at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you’re visiting with children, there may be other options that are a better fit for the overall vibe. This remains an excellent choice for a laid-back meal with great food.

It gets 4 out of 5 stars simply because while it is a great experience, the competition at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for kid-friendly meal options is pretty competitive. If you have younger children, Hollywood & Vine or Roundup Rodeo BBQ may be other restaurants to consider. For older kids, Sci-Fi Dine-In and 50’s Prime Time Cafe are other good choices at the theme park.

Overall, the selection, quality of food, and value of the meal is outstanding at Hollywood Brown Derby. It is one I will definitely return to in the future!

I would recommend this one for families that have older children, tweens, and teens that would appreciate the sophisticated menu. It’s also a fun place to meet friends or have a date night as well!
