We’ve loved our experiences here, in fact, this was the very first character meal we were went to when our kids were little! The atmosphere is warm and enchanting, making it an excellent alternative to Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom for those looking to meet multiple princesses in one meal.

Overview of Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Experience character dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT, where you can enjoy a Princess character meal with Norwegian-inspired cuisine in a beautiful medieval setting.

Previously when you first walked in, you would have your photo taken with Belle, then head to your dining table. As of the past few years, all of the princesses now come around to the table while you’re having your meal.

These are our family’s thoughts on the food, character interactions, and overall value to help you decide if this dining experience is right for your family!

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall Menu Selections

Upon reopening in May 2023, the meals at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall moved to a family-style meal. We recently have visited both the breakfast and dinner meal times in 2026, to try out their new offerings!

We really like this new meal style and have enjoyed both breakfast and dinner here over the past year. The lunch and dinner menu is the same at both meal times.

The menu at all meal times features Norwegian-inspired cuisine with a mix of traditional and familiar flavors to appeal to a variety of palates. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, potato casserole, and Norwegian pastries.

We visited for breakfast on Valentine’s Day, so I suspect this was some extra magic for the holiday… but we even had little heart waffles as a part of our meal! The breakfast at Akershuswas outstanding and it was the top meal of the trip. One that we were talking about even after we returned home!

The lunch and dinner menu offers dishes like meatballs, salmon, and roasted chicken alongside classic sides. Also it should be noted if you’ll be using the Disney Dining Plan that lunch and dinner here require (2) Table Service credits per person. (While breakfast only requires one!)

I personally really enjoyed the salmon and potatoes from the dinner offerings. We’ve always found the food here to be fresh and well-prepared. The newer family-style service makes it easy to enjoy a variety of offerings. And the dessert was definitely a highlight of the dinner meal time!

Double check the menu to make sure it meets your family’s needs before booking this one!

Characters You’ll See at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Which characters are in attendance on your reservation is always subject to change, but you’ll meet a number of Disney Princesses while you dine.

While you’re dining, princesses will come around to your table to greet you! We’ve been greeted by princesses like Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, and Aurora at some of our past experiences here. Although it is possible you can meet other characters here sometimes as well. There are a variety of characters you can meet here based on their availability!

Seeing who you will end up meeting is part of the fun! On our recent trip here, we saw Tiana, Belle, Ariel, Rapunzel, and Aurora!

And the best part is that you get a chance to take photos or have them autograph something as they come around.

Reservations and Planning

Booking a reservation at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is highly recommended, as it is one of the most popular character dining experiences at EPCOT.

Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance (plus length of stay for Disney Resort guests!) through the My Disney Experience app or Disney World website, and they tend to fill up quickly, especially for breakfast.

Booking in Advance

If you are unable to secure a reservation right away, keep checking for availability, as spots may open closer to your visit due to cancellations. Same-day walk-up availability is rare, so having a reservation in place is the best way to guarantee your royal dining experience with the Disney Princesses.

If you’re unable to find a reservation at your preferred dining time, we recommend using a service like MouseDining to be notified when a reservation time does come available.

Meal Pricing

Pricing at Akershus is on the higher end due to the character dining experience, with meals costing $60+ per adult and $40+ per child. While the cost is steep, the one-on-one princess interactions and immersive setting make it a worthwhile experience for families with little ones.

This is the less expensive princess dining option when compared to Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom.

If meeting princesses is a top priority for your trip, this is a great dining option, but for those primarily looking for an interesting meal, there are more budget-friendly table-service choices in EPCOT. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall delivers a royal experience with great character meet-and-greets, making it a memorable choice for families visiting EPCOT.

Make sure to note, if you’ll be using the Disney Dining Plan, lunch and dinner at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall takes 2 dining credits! While breakfast only takes 1 dining credit. Making breakfast the best value meal option when you’re on the dining plan at this location.

This is a great alternative to dining with Disney Princesses at Cinderella’s Royal Table, if you’re unable to get that reservation or if you would prefer to schedule the character dining experience at EPCOT.

Rating Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at EPCOT

Rating: 5 out of 5.

This one holds a special sentimental value to our family, since we have dined here multiple times and it was our family’s first character dining experience! However, I think that speaks to the quality and value of the experience that we have returned multiple times over the year.

After returning for breakfast this year, we have moved the rating for this one from 4.5 stars to the full 5 stars! We had an outstanding experience, and it was one of the best character dining experiences on the trip.

The service, character interactions, and food were all top notch! This is one I will be returning to again soon, so that I can enjoy the new family-style lunch and dinner menus.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a charming location to dine in and meet a number of Disney Princesses at one time. This is a great meal to go with little ones that want to see the princesses or if you’re wanting to experience a unique character dining experience.
