Yacht Club Resort Review | Disney Resorts for Families

If you’re looking for an elegant Disney deluxe resort in one of the best locations on property, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is one worth considering. This resort sits in the EPCOT Resort Area and offers easy access to EPCOT, convenient transportation to Hollywood Studios, and a more refined atmosphere than some of the other Disney resorts in the area.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is connected to Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and the two share several amenities, including the famous Stormalong Bay pool complex. Even so, these are two distinct resorts with different theming and a slightly different overall feel.

Yacht Club Resort Highlights

  • One of the best locations at Walt Disney World, with walking access to EPCOT and boat transportation to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.
  • A more elegant, upscale atmosphere that feels especially well suited to adults-only trips, couples trips, and friend getaways.
  • Access to Stormalong Bay, one of the most impressive pool complexes at any Disney resort.

Overview of Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is a Deluxe Disney Resort hotel located along Crescent Lake in the EPCOT Resort Area. The theme here is classic New England seaside elegance, with nautical details, a more polished color palette, and a quieter atmosphere than nearby Beach Club.

This is the kind of resort that feels a little more grown up. While families can absolutely enjoy staying here, Yacht Club tends to feel especially appealing for couples, adults traveling without kids, or anyone looking for a deluxe resort that feels calm and refined at the end of a busy park day.

Location and Accessibility

One of the biggest selling points of Yacht Club Resort is its location. It is tucked right behind EPCOT in the resort area around Crescent Lake, which puts you close to EPCOT, Disney’s BoardWalk, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

You can walk to EPCOT, and there is also FriendShip boat service to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Bus transportation is available for the other parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. This is one of those resorts where the location alone adds a lot of value to the stay.

Resort Theme and Atmosphere

Yacht Club has a classic coastal, yacht-club-inspired design that feels elegant without being stuffy. The lobby and common areas lean into rich woods, nautical touches, and a more formal feel than Beach Club.

Compared to Beach Club, which feels brighter and more playful for families, Yacht Club feels quieter and a little more upscale. If you love the back entrance to EPCOT but want something that feels a bit more sophisticated, Yacht Club is often the better fit. This is also why I personally think it works especially well for adults-only Disney trips.

Types of Accommodations

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort offers standard guest rooms, water-view room options, and club-level rooms and suites. Standard room configurations can sleep up to 5 adults, depending on bedding, making it workable for many families as well as couples.

Standard View Rooms

These are a good option if you want to stay at Yacht Club while keeping costs a little lower. Standard view rooms can overlook areas like the garden, rooftop, or parking area, and they still give you access to all of the same resort amenities.

Water View Rooms

If location and atmosphere are a big part of why you’re booking Yacht Club, a water view room can be worth considering. These room categories typically offer a more scenic setting and help you lean into that Crescent Lake resort feel.

Club Level Rooms and Suites

Yacht Club also offers club-level accommodations for guests who want an upgraded experience. Club-level stays include access to concierge-style services and lounge amenities, which can be a nice option for a special trip, anniversary stay, or adults-only getaway.

Amenities and In Room Features

As a deluxe resort, Yacht Club comes with the amenities you’d expect for a higher-end Disney stay. Guests have access to complimentary Wi-Fi, Disney transportation, bell services, online check-in, water bottle refill stations, laundry services, and more.

In the rooms, you can expect the standard Disney resort conveniences like beverage cooling, coffee and tea setup, and room layouts designed for comfort after long park days. The bigger draw here, though, is really the overall resort experience and location.

Dining Options

Yacht Club has a strong dining lineup for a deluxe resort, especially if you enjoy more traditional table service meals. Between the Yacht Club offerings, Beach Club next door, and the nearby BoardWalk area, there are plenty of dining choices within walking distance.

Table Service Restaurants

Ale & Compass Restaurant is a popular casual table service option with New England-inspired comfort food and seafood classics. It feels relaxed but still polished, and it works well for breakfast or dinner.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is the signature dining option at Yacht Club and is one of the more upscale restaurants in the EPCOT resort area. It is a great fit for date night, an adults-only meal, or a special dinner during your trip. Yachtsman Steakhouse will be closed for a refresh from May 2026, with reopening expected by August 2026, so that is worth checking before your stay.

Quick Service and Snacks

The Market at Ale & Compass is the main quick-service option at Yacht Club. This is the spot to look for lighter meals, coffee, pastries, and grab-and-go items that are convenient on park mornings or more relaxed resort days.

They have a great selection to choose from right in their grab and go area, there is also a counter to order coffee, hot food, and more. Mobile ordering is available to put your order in while you’re on your way there.

I also loved that The Market at Yacht Club had a small seating area to one side in the quick service area. This is different from Beach Club Resort, which only has outdoor seating or adjacent seating in a Solarium room that really isn’t ideally setup for dining.

I would definitely consider walking over to Yacht Club from Beach Club just to use their quick service! It was robust and they also have the Freestyle Drink Machines which is an added bonus!

Lounges and Bars

Ale & Compass Lounge is a nice option if you want a drink and a quieter break from the parks without committing to a full sit-down meal. It fits the resort well and adds to that more adult-friendly atmosphere.

Crew’s Cup Lounge is another well-liked lounge at Yacht Club, though it is currently closed for refurbishment, with reopening expected in May 2026.

Recreation and Entertainment

While Yacht Club itself feels more peaceful than some Disney resorts, there is still plenty to do here beyond just sleeping close to EPCOT. This is one of the reasons it can appeal to both adults and families, even if the overall vibe is more refined.

Pools and Aquatic Fun

The biggest recreation highlight here is access to Stormalong Bay, the shared three-acre pool complex for Yacht Club and Beach Club. This area includes a sand-bottom pool, lazy river, whirlpool spas, and a 230-foot waterslide built into a life-size shipwreck. It is one of the most impressive resort pools at Walt Disney World and is a major reason many guests choose to stay here.

Guests also have access to quieter leisure pools, including the Admiral pool at Yacht Club, which is a nice option if you want something calmer than the main pool area.

Fitness Center and Sports

For guests who like to keep active on vacation, Yacht Club offers access to a fitness center and nearby recreation options. Disney also highlights sports and recreation offerings in this resort area, including things like beach volleyball.

More Entertainment

Because Yacht Club is so close to the BoardWalk area, one of the hidden perks here is that you’re not limited to just what’s inside the resort. You can easily walk over for entertainment, dining, and evening strolling around Crescent Lake, which adds a lot to the experience without needing extra transportation.

Transportation and Proximity to Parks

Transportation is one of the Yacht Club’s biggest perks. EPCOT is the easiest park to access from here, and Hollywood Studios is also very convenient thanks to the FriendShip boats and walking paths.

Disney bus service handles transportation to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and the water parks.

Walking Distance to EPCOT

For many guests, this is the biggest reason to stay here. Being able to walk to EPCOT is incredibly convenient, especially if you’re planning to spend time at festivals, dine in World Showcase, or head back to the resort midday.

Boat Transportation

FriendShip boats connect Yacht Club with EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, along with other Crescent Lake area resorts. This is one of the transportation options that really adds to the experience and makes the resort feel special.

Bus Transportation and Parking

For destinations not connected by walking path or boat, Disney bus transportation is available. Yacht Club also offers parking and services like Minnie Van access for guests who prefer that option.

Pricing and Value

Yacht Club is a deluxe resort, so it comes with deluxe-level pricing. This is not the resort I would choose if budget is the top priority, but for guests who care most about location, atmosphere, and amenities, it can absolutely be worth the higher nightly cost.

Room Rates and Packages

Rates vary by season, room view, and whether you book club level or standard accommodations. Disney also periodically offers room discounts and vacation packages, so it is worth watching for promotions if you want to stay here while keeping costs down.

Comparing Value to Other Resorts

Compared to Beach Club, Yacht Club offers a similar location and shared pool benefits, but with a more elegant, quieter atmosphere. Compared to BoardWalk Inn, Yacht Club can feel a bit more traditional and polished. The real value here is best for guests who know they want deluxe accommodations near EPCOT and will take advantage of the location.

As a deluxe resort, Yacht Club also qualifies for perks like Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, which can add meaningful value for park-focused trips. In summer 2026, eligible Disney Resort hotel guests also receive water park admission on check-in day for stays from May 26 through September 8, 2026.

Tips for Staying at the Yacht Club Resort

Choose Yacht Club over Beach Club if you want a quieter, more upscale feel.

This is an especially great resort for couples’ trips, adult friend trips, or EPCOT festival weekends.

Plan to take advantage of the walk to EPCOT, because that is one of the biggest benefits of staying here.

Book dining reservations early if you want to eat at Yachtsman Steakhouse or Ale & Compass.

Check refurbishment notices before your trip, since Disney currently notes exterior maintenance through late 2026 along with temporary dining closures.

Would I Stay at the Yacht Club Resort Again?

Yes! Especially for an adults-only Disney trip or a stay where EPCOT access is a top priority. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort has one of the best locations on property, and the elegant atmosphere makes it feel like a more elevated resort experience.

For families, I do think Beach Club often ends up being the better fit because it feels brighter, more relaxed, and a little more playful. But if you want an upscale deluxe resort right at the back entrance of EPCOT, Yacht Club is absolutely one of the strongest options at Walt Disney World.
