Deciding Where to Dine at Disney

Here’s your printable guide to air conditioned quick service dining at each Walt Disney World theme park!

Air Conditioned Dining at Magic Kingdom

While Magic Kingdom offers plenty of iconic snacks and outdoor carts, these quick service locations are the best bets for a cool, air-conditioned meal!

You’ll find lots of seating at Colombia Harbour House, Pinocchio Village Haus, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, and Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. This means that there is a great indoor quick service dining location in every corner of the theme park. Gaston’s Tavern also has two decent sized indoor dining areas.

If you’re in the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland, you can also head over to Big Top Souvenirs which has a great little bakery inside. They recently added an indoor seating area that usually isn’t very busy.

Quick service locations like Sleepy Hollow and Lunching Pad have outdoor covered seating. Casey’s Corner has a small indoor seating area and additional outdoor seating.

Our rating of the quick service at Magic Kingdom can be found here!

Air Conditioned Dining at EPCOT

EPCOT’s World Showcase and World Celebration areas have the most quick service dining options. And many of these offer indoor seating to escape the heat. You’ll need to plan though, because there are also a lot of booths and quick service locations with only outdoor seating here.

Some of our favorite stops are in Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in France, which has a great pastry counter and indoor seating in the back of the pavilion. Regal Eagle Smokehouse in the American Adventure also has lots of indoor, air conditioned seating. (There is outdoor seating here as well!)

And if you’re dining in Mexico before mid-afternoon, bring your quick service from La Cantina de San Angel into the indoor air-conditioned La Hacienda de San Angel building. The table service restaurant opens at 4pm each day, so before they close the space to set up for the evening, you can bring your quick service (until around 2-3pm) into the seating space to cool off!

Additionally, if you’re in the front of the theme park, Sunshine Seasons in World Nature and Connections Cafe and Eatery in World Celebration are a great stop with lots of indoor, air conditioned seating.

These are some of our favorite snacks at EPCOT to snack around the world!

Air Conditioned Dining at Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios has a number of awesome table service restaurant options, but its quick service restaurants with indoor air conditioning are more limited.

The only restaurants here that have a decent sized indoor seating area are ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, and Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo.

We often end up at Backlot Express because of its convenient location (we love Star Tours!), and its large seating area. There is both indoor and outdoor seating here, but because of its unique configuration, even the very covered and many large fans running outdoor area usually feels okay to rest for a bit.

If you’ll be back in the Galaxy’s Edge area, Docking Bay 7 makes a great stop when you’re in that area. There is also ample covered seating with fans throughout the marketplace and across from Dok Ondor’s.

Over in Toy Story Land, you’ll find the popular Woody’s Lunch Box. It has covered seating with some shade, but be aware it is totally outside.

Our top rated quick service dining locations at Hollywood Studios can be found here.

Air Conditioned Dining at Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is all about nature and that means that a lot of the dining here also incorporates the outside. That being said, there are a few notable places to stop where you can dine with quick service indoors.

Satu’li Canteen in Pandora has an awesome menu and both indoor and outdoor seating. We most often eat outside here because it is covered and pretty shady, however if you’re looking to cool down they have a large seating area inside as well.

Also, there is Pizzafari in the Discovery Island area that is conveniently located and has a large indoor seating area.

If you’re in the back of the park and looking for covered seating, we like to head to either Harambe Market or Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafe. Both of these locations offer a lot of covered seating with some fans, so as long as you aren’t in the sun it is a cooler place to eat.

There’s also a great seating area tucked behind Tamu Tamu Refreshments that you can find quick service from any of the surrounding carts or windows and eat in a shaded area with fans.

Air Conditioned Quick Service Dining at Walt Disney World Resorts

One thing that many of the resorts do well is having a great quick service selection, and large indoor dining areas. In fact, at all of the Value and Moderate Resorts, you’ll find large food court areas that can handle a good volume of people and have a good selection of items.

All of these locations are air conditioned and have a good amount of indoor seating:

Value Resorts

Moderate Resorts

Deluxe Resorts

Some of the Deluxe Resorts do Quick Service dining well, and have large indoor dining spaces that are air conditioned.

If Quick Service dining is important to you, these are our favorite Deluxe Resort Dining locations that are indoors in the air conditioning.

Notably one of our favorite deluxe resorts does have a weaker quick service situation. Beach Club Resort has a quick service area inside its gift shop, and there is limited seating in the Solarium to sit and eat.

Yacht Club Resort has no dedicated quick service and only has a grab and go section in their gift shop. And Boardwalk Inn Resort anticipates you should walk out on the boardwalk to get food. (This is one of the big reasons we rank it so low for families.) However if you’re wanting something right in the resort at Boardwalk Inn, there is a small coffee shop with a limited menu.

When you get to the Deluxe Resorts, it starts to become more hit or miss. Especially at DVC Resorts, where they anticipate you may be making some meals in your rooms. Some DVC Resorts defer you to the adjacent resort to dine at, and others just simply have limited dining options.

These locations have NO indoor quick service location:

  • Bay Lake Tower (defers you to go to the Contemporary Main Building location)
  • Boulder Ridge Villas (defers you to Wilderness Lodge main building)
  • Island Tower at Polynesian (defers you to main building at Polynesian)
  • Kidani Village (defers you to go to the Jambo House location)
  • Old Key West (outdoor quick service only)

If quick service dining availability is going to be a big consideration when you’re at your resort, we recommend taking the above notes into account when booking as well.

Also, if you’ll be staying at Fort Wilderness (home to both value camping locations and Deluxe Villa cabins), there is an indoor seating area at their quick service location, Trail’s End Restaurant. Due to the unique layout of this resort, you’ll likely want to make sure you have a golf cart if you’re staying here, as most areas of the resort are a short drive away from the quick service restaurant.
