We love celebrating birthdays and special events at Walt Disney World! In fact, we often plan a trip right around a birthday or anniversary just to be able to celebrate! You can get a special pin to celebrate, and also some of the restaurants have surprise birthday desserts.

At Disney Resorts, you may even find some special signs that you can hold up to get fun photos to celebrate too!

And for added magic, we love booking a special paid experience like a Fireworks Cruise or Specialty Tour, to make our trip extra special!
Celebrating a Birthday at Disney
The first thing you’ll want to do if you are celebrating a birthday at Disney is to stop by any guest relations or front desk to pick up a complimentary “Happy Birthday” button to wear during your stay. More details on that here.

Stop by and get an “I’m Celebrating!” button for any kind of special celebration, not just birthdays!

You can also order a cake (read how below), send flowers or gifts to a room, or even have an entire specialized custom celebration.
No matter how you choose to spend your day, any birthday celebration at Disney will be special!
Ordering Celebratory Cakes at Disney
There are over 40 restaurants at Walt Disney World where you can order a specialty cake. You can find the list of them here.
One medium sized cake will feed 4-6 guests, and you can even customize the message on the mouse ears (“Congratulations”, “Happy Birthday”, etc.)
You’ll need to order your cake when booking your restaurant reservations online or in the My Disney Experience app. Just note that you won’t be able to change the restaurant you order the cake from once the order is placed, so make sure you double-check your plans before ordering.
We also love these little cakes from Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs, for a fun celebratory treat! They run around $20-range for a small cake that can feed 2-3 people. These can be ordered at the counter and are typically readily available without a special order!

If you are looking for something even more upscale, you can order a custom, larger handmade cake from Amorette’s Patisserie to enjoy back in your resort room.
Fireworks Cruises at Disney World
Disney World offers two different fireworks cruises: a Magic Kingdom Fireworks Cruise and an EPCOT Fireworks Cruise. Both are spectacular and unique ways to celebrate a special day and feel like you have a front row seat to your own fireworks show.

Boats seat up to 10 guests, and you will need to make a reservation up to 60 days in advance. We love booking these when we want a great view of the fireworks, without having to deal with crowds!
This is an incredible and relaxing way to end your special day at Disney! Watch our review of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Cruise on YouTube!
Special Tour Experiences at Disney World
There are also a number of special tours you can book at Walt Disney World, which can make a nice treat to create a memorable experience on your trip.

Some of our favorite tour experiences have been the Caring for Giants Tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. And we also all enjoyed doing the Behind the Seeds tour at EPCOT!

These tours are a great way to learn more about the theme parks and operations, especially if you’ve visited Disney World a number of times!
VIP Disney Tours at Disney World
Another way to celebrate a special day at Disney is to book a VIP Tour. These tours are for up to 10 guests and include a private, knowledgeable tour guide along with a totally customizable experience. This exclusive opportunity is pricey, but allows you to see a number of attractions within a short timeframe.

You’ll be picked up at the time of your choosing from your hotel room by private vehicle from which your tour guide will help you enjoy all of your favorite attractions.

You can visit multiple theme parks during your VIP tour with your guide. This can also be booked up to 60 days in advance, so make sure you plan ahead. This would be the ultimate way to celebrate a once in a lifetime event!
Other Special Gatherings at Disney
Disney has a team of experts that can help you put together a completely custom Disney experience for your special event! For anything from private dining to weddings, they will help you craft a special celebration and customize everything from decor to adding magical enhancements to your celebration.

These are incredible ways to get a custom experience when you’re planning some very unique and special at Disney.
