Disney Resorts for Couples Ranked
Here are our picks for the best Disney World resorts for couples, ranking them based on romantic ambiance, dining experiences, transportation options, and overall vibe.

You’ll find different rankings for families visiting Walt Disney World with kids (elementary age through teens) and visiting with infants or toddlers at the linked posts!
We recommend different resorts based on the different age scenarios of your travel party. And if you’re looking for more Disney Date Night ideas, we have an entire article dedicated to planning a special evening when you’re at Walt Disney World.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
This stunning Victorian-style resort is a favorite for couples who enjoy timeless elegance and a touch of luxury.

The Grand Floridian is home to some of Disney’s finest dining, including the renowned Victoria & Albert’s and the waterfront Narcoossee’s, both perfect for romantic evenings.

The serene spa, live piano music in the lobby, and fireworks views from the beach make it one of the most romantic spots on property. There’s lots of hustle and bustle, but plenty of quiet places to get away from the crowds along the walkways and beach.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
If you’re dreaming of a tropical escape without leaving Florida, the Polynesian Village Resort is a great choice! This resort brings island vibes, lush landscaping, and gorgeous lagoon views.

Couples can unwind with a drink at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto (one of my favorite lounges at Disney World!), take a walk along the sandy beach, or enjoy an incredible view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the shoreline.

This resort strikes a perfect balance for us, as being both a great selection for families or a fun place for an adults only trip. There are lots of great restaurants here like Kona Cafe and ‘Ohana, making it an all around fun spot for a vacation.
Disney’s Riviera Resort
Modern, elegant, and inspired by the beauty of Europe, Disney’s Riviera Resort is a quieter deluxe resort that feels like a romantic hideaway. The rooftop restaurant, Topolino’s Terrace, is ideal for a date night, offering a delicious menu and panoramic views. It’s also one of my favorite places for character dining on property!

With quick access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios via the Skyliner, it’s both convenient and classy. The rooms here are large enough for families, but they also have smaller rooms that are perfect for couples wanting to stay here as their homebase.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
For a truly unique experience, Animal Kingdom Lodge surrounds you with African art, warm tones, and savanna views. It’s one of the most immersive resorts on property.

Couples will love watching giraffes and zebras from their balcony, enjoying an intimate dinner at Jiko – The Cooking Place, delicious breakfast at Boma, and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere far from the theme park crowds. If you love animals, this resort makes a great spot to go back to and relax.

This is another one of our favorite resorts to visit as a family, but with the wide variety of dining here also makes it a great spot for adult stays as well. I also enjoy getting up with my coffee in the morning and doing a little giraffe spotting, which makes it such a magical start to the day!
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
This sophisticated, New England-style resort is perfect for couples looking for a refined experience. It’s within walking distance to EPCOT and the BoardWalk, making evening strolls and dining out easy.

It should be noted that this resort feels uniquely different from its attached sister location, Beach Club Resort. We recommend Beach Club Resort for families, but like Yacht Club for a quieter adult stay. The lobby tends to be quieter at Yacht Club. The resort also uses darker color tones and woods, making it feel a bit more upscale from its sister resort.

Stormalong Bay, the shared pool with Beach Club, offers a relaxing way to spend the afternoon, and the marina provides beautiful water views, especially at sunset. So if you don’t mind a bit of a further walk to EPCOT (or enjoy using the boat services, as Yacht Club is nearer to the dock area) this can be a nice option for a serene location to stay.Â
Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter
Looking for something a little more budget-friendly that still offers romance and charm? Port Orleans- French Quarter is one of our favorites! With a quiet and quaint resort resort vibe that is home to cobblestone paths, ironwork balconies, and sweet little courtyards that feel like a mini New Orleans getaway.

Take a boat ride to Disney Springs for dinner and live music, or simply relax with beignets and coffee in the morning. As a bonus, if you’re looking to visit around Mardi Gras this resort also plays host to a special Mardi Gras celebration with activities happening all day long!

I love this resorts for couples stays, adults only friend trips, and I’ve also stayed here solo as well! It is a great home base resort that has great amenities and is easy to stay at.Â
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
We love the lodge feel at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge for a relaxing stay that is still near Magic Kingdom.

There is boat service that goes back and forth to the theme park, and the rooms here feel easy to get to the lobby area where you can dine at restaurants like Whispering Canyon Cafe and Story Book Dining at Artist Point.

The lodge is always beautifully decorated during the holidays, making this a top choice during the holiday season as well! It has a fun pool area and quick service with robust offerings that make this an easy place to stay at during your trip!
Find Your Perfect Couples’ Stay Location
Each of these resorts have their own unique personality and one may stand out as your perfect location based on your own personal preferences. When focusing on an adults only trip, we like resorts that feature a lot of adult friendly dining, have a defined personality, and offer an elegant stay during your time at Walt Disney World.Â
