Disney Treasure Cruise Ship Review | Guide for Everything You Need to Know Before Sailing

Disney Cruise Ship Advancements

The newer Disney Cruise Line ships were also built with efficiency and eco-friendliness in mind, which we appreciate. They run on a cleaner liquified natural gas, and feature a hydrodynamic design to make the ship as efficient as possible.

The ship also produces up to 99% of its own water using a freshwater generation system that uses reverse osmosis and and purification systems. (If you want to learn more about these topics, make sure to catch the Disney Cruise specials on Disney+ that share great details like these!)

Having been on a number of Disney cruises before, we went into our Disney Treasure cruise with an open mind and came away very enthused about our 7 nights onboard!

What Makes the Disney Treasure Unique?

Being one of the newest ships in the fleet, this ship was in excellent condition when we sailed in July 2026. Everything felt bright and new, and we didn’t notice any items in disrepair as we were on the ship.

When you sail on one of the classic ships, it feels relatively the same from ship to ship. Even going from the smaller Magic Class ships to the larger Dream Class ships.

However with the new Wish class ships, I think that Disney Cruise Line has definitely succeeded in creating a different kind of experience at sea. It’s a departure once you get inside from the legacy ships. The newer ships very much lean into using the decor in the interior of the ship to create a different feel and overall experience.

When we were on the Disney Treasure, I didn’t just feel like I was on a Disney Cruise. I felt like I was on a Disney Treasure cruise! Our experience was unique to that ship, and because of that, I think it has helped make it stand out from some of our other sailings on the legacy ships.

Space Just for Kids on Disney Cruises

One of the standout reasons that keeps us coming back to Disney Cruise Line, are the outstanding spaces just for kids! And the Disney Treasure is exceptional in this area!

The kids’ clubs on the newer Wish Class ships (including the Disney Treasure) are also stellar! And I really enjoyed the spaces they had for the kids. We have a full breakdown of the different kids’ clubs onboard in this article.

In general, Oceaneer Club is for ages 3-10, Edge is for ages 11-14, and Vibe is for ages 14-17 across all of the ships. We love that everyone in the family has their own programming to attend. And our kids have grown up with Disney Cruise Line, aging through the different club programs to where our older daughter is now in Vibe!

So with all of that in mind, let’s break down all of the topics that really make the Disney Treasure cruise experience different, from any other Disney Cruise.

Disney Treasure Rotational Dining

One of the unique things about sailing on Disney Cruise Line is the rotational dining restaurants. We have a full guide to rotational dining on the Disney Treasure in this article. Below are some of the highlights from dining on our cruise!

1923

This classic restaurant is located on all of the Wish class ships, the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny.

The decor throughout the restaurant celebrates classic Disney animation. We love taking some time to look around and see the different displays. This was also a highlight food wise for us. The means here were flavorful and elegant!

Worlds of Marvel

Worlds of Marvel is an interactive restaurant located on all of the Wish class ships, the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. The shows may vary from ship to ship, but generally the inside of these restaurants looks the same.

We actually enjoyed Worlds of Marvel much more on the Disney Treasure than our experience on the Disney Wish. (Keeping in mind, we were on an extremely early sailing on the Wish. They may have dialed in the experience on that ship now too.) The sound was low enough that we could hear the show on the screens, but still be able to talk with people at our table as well.

During one of the evenings, a Marvel character shows up as a surprise! We had an absolute blast here and it was an enjoyable experience both evenings we were here. They also had one of my family’s favorite menus on our second night there!

Plaza de Coco

On each of the Wish class ships, there is a show restaurant that is exclusive to that ship! On the Disney Treasure, Plaza de Coco brings the story of Coco to life! We loved the live entertainment here and thought the decor was fantastic as well.

Their menus were also some of my personal favorites, and by the time we got to our third night here (we rotated here 3 times), I was asking for multiple appetizers because I couldn’t pick just one!

Disney Treasure Entertainment and Activities

Entertainment was one of the strong points of the Disney Treasure! We were slightly concerned about feeling like we had enough to do around the ship for 7-nights, but pleasantly surprised that we never ran out of things to do!

Of course the Broadway style shows on Disney cruises are always a highlight! And the Disney Moana stage show was absolutely amazing! Don’t miss that one.

We had already seen the Beauty and the Beast show a number of times, because we’ve sailed on the Disney Dream four times. So don’t skip that show if you haven’t seen it, but we honestly went to other programming around the ship on the Disney Treasure because we had just seen it on the Dream about a year ago.

I think that speaks to how much there is to do around the ship though! We went to trivia a number of times. Won at the game Majority Minds and got a really awesome gift bag! And also enjoyed some of the different acts around the ship in the lounges.

Lounges on the Disney Treasure

This is where I feel like the newer ships really start to shine and show off their personality!

In addition to the beautiful grand hall that sets the tone for the ship, the lounges are unique to the Disney Treasure ship as well. We took peek at all of them, but ended up spending the most time in The Haunted Mansion Parlor! It was so fantastic, I have a full review on just that space.

The other lounge spaces were intricately themed as well though. We went to trivia a number of times in the Skipper Society lounge. Based on the Jungle Cruise attraction.

And the Periscope Pub was also a nautical success. We didn’t spend much time in there because they were hosting World Cup watch parties most of our cruise, but the space was put together nicely.

Scat Cat’s Lounge is an exclusive space for ages 18+ on the ship. It has live music and an Aristocats theme. We didn’t spend much time here in favor of being in The Haunted Mansion Parlor. However the space was lovely and seemed busy most of the times we walked past!

Senses Spa on the Disney Treasure

One of our favorite add-on activities on the Disney cruise ships is to visit the spa!

I will dive into an in-depth review of the spa after my Disney Destiny cruise, because I’ll be trying out the Rainforest Spa pass during that trip. We did stop in to get a tour of the Rainforest area on the Disney Treasure. The spa is one of those activities that will be great for some people, and be something that others will skip.

We enjoy visiting the spa to get a treatment like a massage or couples’ massage. You can get the Rainforest room pass to be able to visit and use the facilities throughout your cruise. We find the spa experiences to be top notch and worth the money.

Disney Treasure Water Activities

This is where… there is a lot of contention about the new ships. It also may be why we don’t mind the newer designs and even have come embrace them!

Our family doesn’t personally do a lot of swimming on our Disney cruises. Which worked out fine for us on the Disney Treasure, because there are really just a few smaller wading pools on the newer ships. As opposed to larger swimming areas on the legacy style of ships. It never even crossed our mind to use the pools, as we prefer to engage in water activities during our port excursions. So once we’re on the ship we like participating in non-water activities.

We did go down the AquaMouse once and that was good fun! As for the pool deck, we mainly just use Deck 11 to get a quick bite to eat! Speaking of…

Quick Service Food on the Disney Treasure

Dining was a highlight on the Disney Treasure and that extended to the quick service dining options as well.

On Deck 11, you have Mickey’s Festival of Foods. This is a cute themed food area that serves up tacos, burgers, brisket, hotdogs, and ice cream. We use this are quite a bit to grab a quick snack. One of my favorites were the tacos and bowls from Donald’s Cantina!

At the end of the deck is Marceline Market. This is a buffet style area that is open for breakfast and lunch, similar to a Cabanas on the older ships. We enjoy stopping into the buffet area for quick breakfasts and lunch on our days at sea.

I liked the offerings at Marceline Market and thought the food was overall good too. I think that buffets tend to work out well for families, because everyone can get what they are in the mood for. And there’s a large selection at the buffets. Churro waffle day on our second day at sea was of course a “can’t miss” occasion!

And if you get hungry later in the evening, there’s always ordering food via room service too!

Shopping on the Disney Treasure

This could be its own article, but my main takeaway for planning your shopping on a Disney cruise… is if you see it on the ship and want it. Get it! Items sell out early during the cruise and quantities are limited during your sailing.

There are so many exclusive items that can only be found on the Disney Cruise ships. Exclusive apparel, accessories, and collectibles that are not sold online or in any other location. In some cases, especially if you may not know when your next cruise will be, this will be the one chance to grab these items. (Although we highly recommend putting down a cruise placeholder!)

I’ve started cruise specific collection of Pandora charms, which I will be doing a whole series on. There also exclusive pins for pin traders, and plenty of shirts and sweatshirts as well!

There are also shops where you can pick up last minute essentials like sunscreen or hats. We typically always end up buying at least one hat on our Disney cruises!

Disney Treasure Stateroom

Last but certainly not least, a bit about our stateroom! We booked a Guaranteed Stateroom (GTY) on our sailing to save a bit of money on our cruise. (A bit was $1400 in this case!) Overall this worked out for us, but keep in mind if you go this route your room will not be assigned until right before the cruise.

Our room was a Family Verandah Stateroom, and we ended up in Stateroom 7608. This room was equipped for hearing impaired individuals, and when it wasn’t filled on our cruise they assigned the room to us.

We enjoy having the verandah space on our room, and inside the rooms are bright and airy. The layouts of the rooms do feel much like the rooms on the Magic Class or Dream Class ships, but since they are brighter it helps it feel a bit more open.

Stateroom Theme

Our room had an Aladdin theme over the main bed in the stateroom, and worked wonderfully with the overall theme of the ship!

Inside the stateroom, our family of four had enough storage space. And we also really like the split bathroom design that the Disney Cruise ships have.

This makes it easier for multiple people to be getting ready at one time!

For our family, we aren’t in the stateroom a lot because we are usually either at port excursion all day or enjoying activities around the ship. We truly only use our cabin for sleeping.

So that is why booking a GTY room works well for us, as we don’t really particularly care where our stateroom is located. If you have strong opinions about what deck you want to be located on or which area of the ship you want to be in, I highly recommend just picking your stateroom directly when you book your cruise.

Is the Disney Treasure Worth It?

This was one of the spendiest cruises we had ever been on. And sailing on the Disney Treasure is a commitment, because it only is going on 7-night itineraries right now. So is sailing on the Disney Treasure worth it?

In most cases… I would say YES!

For cruisers that are considering sailing on the Disney Treasure, this is a fantastic way to get a new Disney Cruise experience on a longer sailing. We enjoyed the fresh and modern vibe of the ship. And the entertainment was top notch! Some of the Disney Treasure exclusive areas like The Haunted Mansion Parlor were favorites of ours, and I would definitely sail on this ship again in the future.

However, I completely understand that both the 7-night+ itineraries and the price point are a commitment.

I’m sailing on the Disney Destiny in a few months, and I look forward to being able to compare those two experiences directly. For considerations of finding the best cruise for your family I would take the ship into account but not make it the only deciding factor. Looking at the overall experience including the itinerary, cost, port destinations, and also the departure port.

Disney Treasure for Newer Cruisers?

Here’s the thing, if you’ve never been on a Disney Cruise and don’t know if cruising is for you yet, I don’t think this is the cruise I would recommend to start with. It is an amazing cruise, but being on a ship for 7-nights can feel like a long time if you’re new to cruising.

Instead, if you’re new to cruising, I would suggest a 3-5 night Disney cruise to test the waters (pun intended!) and see if cruising is for you.

If you’re an avid Disney Cruise Line traveler and are comparing this ship to other ships, I think it is strongly worth considering. The Disney Treasure offers a fresh and modern cruising experience, from familiar port at Port Canaveral. I think the main consideration is whether you’re able to do a 7-night cruise and if the overall costs are within your budget. If yes to those two things, then I would break down the experience and make sure you are open to a new type of Disney cruising experience.

The ship is absolutely lovely, and I appreciate all of the advancements they’ve made on these newer ships.
