Temperatures are starting to warm up in Orlando during the month of May! And although it won’t be the hottest days that you’ll see in July and August, you’ll find an average of 87 degrees during the day in May.

In the evenings it usually will cool down in the mid-60s, but most days especially towards the end of the month you won’t even need a light jacket after the sun goes down.

May Specific Packing Essentials

Plan to pack average temperatures in the 80 degree range! May is a great time to start wearing athletic gear materials to the theme parks. And we always like to bring multiple pairs of shoes to rotate between as well.

Overall May should be fairly comfortable, you just won’t want to wear any heavy materials that are not breathable. Skip denim pants and shorts and instead wear lightweight joggers or athletic shorts. You’ll also want to make sure to stay shielded from the sun and wear sunscreen, that Florida sun is no joke!

Pack your base layers of shorts with tee shirts, or some lightweight dresses and skirts. And if you’ll have any nice dinners to go to, we like to pack a change of clothes for the evenings to have fresh clothes for dinner.

If you’ll be there towards the end of the month, temperatures will start climbing as well. Making this a great time of year to spend some time at your resort pool or the water park!

For shoes, bring a few pairs of comfortable walking shoes to alternate between each day. And I like bringing a few different theme park bags to alternate between to match my outfits.
